We’ve got Hulu Plus, Netflix, VUDU, the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN to satisfy our television and movie content needs on consoles, but that’s apparently not enough. In a letter addressed to the FCC on March 11, a counsel to Fox Group discussed the possibility of Fox bringing on-demand and subscription video services to game consoles and other electronic devices. Fox wants the FCC’s permission to make that kind of content available.

Sony is allegedly going beyond its internal network to improve security. Gamasutra sources claim Sony has handed out new SDKs (software development kits) to developers. The new SDK will apparently enhance security in the games developers create. All this is being done in time for the PlayStation Network’s return that is estimated to occur within six days from now. This additional security may further protect individual games in the event that the PS3 is ever compromised once again.

The PSP Slim has been out for a while now so it may be surprising to learn that Sony is working on a new version. Patents were found lingering on the FCC website show multiple very technical documents about the new PSP-3001 series.
