It’s another Square-Enix Deal of the Day extravaganza at Amazon today. If you’re looking to bypass the SE tax and own a PS3, Xbox 360 or PC, then you’re in luck. There are three great games on sale and waiting for you, and nearly all three will qualify for free Super Saver shipping.,,

Amazon’s Deal of the Day is Final Fantasy XIII

Amazon’s big deal for today is a little game you’ve probably heard of – Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3. There’s only one tiny, heartbreaking detail. The Xbox 360 version of FFXIII isn’t on sale. Amazon’s regular price for it is still cheaper than most stores though! It costs $47.99, instead of $59.99. A $12 discount is better than nothing…

With only just a month left to go until the exciting and anticipated release of Square Enix’s latest chapter to the long-standing pivotal Final Fantasy series, fans will be clamoring to gain access to the Final Fantasy XIII launch party.

Square Enix will be hosting a two-part event in honor of the game on March 8, 2010, in San Francisco, California.

The first, coined the “Final Fantasy XIII Experience”, is described as a fan-focused event that will take place in the day across two 2-hour sessions. There, attendees can enjoy playing the game first hand, browsing a gallery of artwork, viewing trailers, and meeting members of the development staff. This daytime event will also feature a raffle where lucky individuals will be able to win “fantastic” prizes, yet to be announced. During this time, a select group of guests will also be invited to partake in the second part of the two-fold event, the Final Fantasy XIII launch party that will occur later that evening.

Start saving for the possible Xbox 360 Final Fantasy XIII bundle

Final Fantasy fans heartbroken over the fact that they don’t have the necessary PS3 or Xbox 360 needed to play the game may not have it so bad anymore, as a retail listing on a retailer training website showed a Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 bundle is going to be released in North America. So if you were debating buying a new console just to play that specific game, the decision might be a little easier.

The preliminary box art for the bundle can be seen at the right. It includes an Xbox 360, copy of Final Fantasy XIII two wireless controllers, a headset and a 250gb hard drive. As Kotaku points out, the listing for the bundle states that the console and controllers will be black, but the box art shows a white console and controllers. The console depicted on the box also looks to be a plain, standard Xbox 360…

Final Fantasy XIII first in series to be released in Chinese

Final Fantasy XIII represents multiple firsts for Square Enix. It’s the first entry in the Final Fantasy game developed for the current generation of consoles. It’s the first Final Fantasy to be released on two consoles at once. It breaks the PlayStation-exclusive precident that started with Final Fantasy VII. And now, it will be the first Final Fantasy game to be translated into Chinese.

Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII a three disc adventure

Thanks to Gamefly, we now know that the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will be delivered on three discs. Everyone already knew there was no possible way that the game could fit on a single disc, due to the fact that Blu-ray discs are capable of holding far more information, but now Xbox 360 owners have a better idea of how many times they will find themselves swapping discs out of their console.

The information is delivered very simply and in a matter-of-fact manner in the GameFly listing. Right before the main game description begins, a message informs readers that it’s three discs, but counts as one disc if you rent it. PS3 owners won’t have to worry about this issue at all. It’s a one disc game for you.

When you think about it, this news can get you feeling nostalgic…

Square Enix has just announced that it will be holding a very brief Final Fantasy XIII bus tour to help promote the forthcoming game and give people a chance to try it.

On January 13, 2010, the Twitter page will start telling us where the FFXIII tour bus is at or headed so people can hurry to see it and try the game. Right now, all the twitter has is a statement trying to hype people up by asking who wants to try FFXIII and showing a picture of the back bumper of the FFXIII tour bus that has the @PlayFFXIII twitter address on it.

Square Enix made no mention of the tour expanding outside of the San Francisco and Bay areas in the official press release…

Square Enix announces stylin’ Final Fantasy XIII sweepstakes

Even though Japan is currently enjoying the release of Final Fantasy XIII for the Playstation 3 (released on December 17, 2009), American fans aren’t being left out in the blistering winter cold this holiday season.

On December 23, 2009, Square Enix will kick off its Stylin’ Final Fantasy XIII Sweepstakes where 13 lucky winners will be able to win an assortment of Final Fantasy XIII-inspired accessories.

Final Fantasy XIII will include virtual online shops

Final Fantasy, one of the most acclaimed role-playing game series, is gearing up to debut its latest installment with Final Fantasy XIII. This long awaited sequel will feature innovations in different areas of the game as well as some impressive visuals.

One of the main areas getting a revamp is the battle system which has been reworked in favor of a more interactive gameplay, including combos and an all new summon system.

Another area that will include some innovations is the store system. Final Fantasy XIII is introducing something that resembles an online marketplace. Players will be able to buy and sell weapons and equipment in an in-game virtual store. These virtual stores only provide access to a fictional “internet” of sorts and will not involve actual transactions between different players. The stores will be available at all save points where players will be able to access the system and trade their stuff.
