Today is a great day for the Nintendo Downloads update because of one game, and one game only. An old game too, to make things even more interesting! If you own a Wii, you can now fire up the Wii Shop Channel and download the classic Final Fantasy III. That is, Final Fantasy VI. It’s one of the best entries in the entire Final Fantasy series, if not the best, so go and savor it.
Ok, I guess the DSiWare action RPG The Lost Town: The Dust may have potential too. Also, if you get time, you may want to peek at the other WiiWare and three DSiWare games that were released.

Square Enix Japan often uses its Square Enix Members Twitter account to educate, tease and answer questions from fans. It can often be a surprising source of additional information on the company’s games, if you pay attention. All too often, female characters in video games are given bit parts, or designed in a manner that shows developers clearly intended them to act as eye candy. While female characters have become incredibly visible in games as time has gone by, it still can be difficult to discern characters who are really good role models for female players.
To make matters worse, when lists are compiled of strong female leads, they tend to feature the same characters over and over again. I’ve seen Lara Croft appear in lists at least 20 times, and frankly she doesn’t always deserve the spot.
