Amazon’s November 15 2011 video game deals of the day are Sims 3 downloads

As mentioned yesterday, Amazon’s doing a week of assorted video game deals in its video game Deal of the Day section. Yesterday’s was pretty lackluster, as it featured games that had received a four star rating from Amazon shoppers and were under $20. Some of the featured games weren’t even reduced! Today’s is much better, as all of the downloads are actually on sale.

You heard me right, downloads. Today is Digital Download Day, with downloadable Windows and Mac games to buy. Actually, you could also almost call this the Sims 3 Expansion Day…

Amazon selling a 7 game Square Enix Adventure Pack for $50

If you’ve been let down by the lack of Labor Day 2011 video game sales, then head to Amazon. The site has you covered today. At least, if you’re a computer gamer, you’ll be covered. There’s a big bundle called the Square Enix Adventure Pack available, and you can get seven big name games for $49.99. Let that sink in.

See, Square Enix is known for the mythical Square Enix tax. The company’s games always are among the most expensive out there. This bundle completely eliminates that premium price. Let’s look at the list of games you get…

Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition has it all

Okay, so Final Fantasy XIV is still a bit of a wash. Maybe it’s time to take a step back and look into the more polished Final Fantasy XI. I mean, it’s old, but it’s also at a point where you don’t have to question its quality. Hey, there’s even a perfect opportunity to take a chance on it coming up. Square Enix is going to be releasing a huge downloadable bundle called the Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition.

The name’s so big because there’s so much in it…

Final Fantasy XIV, XI and PlayOnline servers return on March 25

Final Fantasy XIV Following the disaster in Japan, Square Enix decided to shut down servers for Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XI and PlayOnline to conserve the country’s power supplies. Square Enix didn’t initially know when the servers would be brought back online, but a date was set earlier today. Expect to jump back into the MMO action on March 25, 2011.

Final Fantasy servers shut down to conserve power

As we all know, Japan was hit with a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake last week, followed by a tsunami. Well over a 100 aftershocks continued to be felt in the days that followed. The world is pitching in to assist in the relief efforts, and the power companies in Japan have decided to take measures to conserve power. That’s why the servers that govern Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XI and PlayOnline have been temporarily suspended.

Square Enix offers bonuses to Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV subscribers

Let’s say you’ve played a lot of Final Fantasy XI, but you also want to participate in Final Fantasy XIV when it comes out on September 30, 2010. Should you cancel one of your subscriptions and create an all new account? The good news is you won’t have to. In fact, Square Enix has a few incentives prepared for gamers who continue subscribing to both games.

Discover details about Final Fantasy XIV’s tribes

If you’re eagerly awaiting Square Enix’s forthcoming Final Fantasy XIV MMORPG then there’s some new information available for you! We already knew that there were going to be five races, all very similar to the ones seen in Final Fantasy XI except for the names. Now, thanks to the Japanese FFXIV site, we know there are two tribes for each race and each tribe will have different characteristics. Let’s take a look through all five races and ten tribes briefly and, to make things easier I’ll also mention the corresponding FFXI tribe in each description.

First, there are two Hyur (Hume) tribes, Midlander and Highlander. Midlanders can be male or female, and Highlanders can only be male. It sounds like Midlanders are going to be very similar to the Humes of FFXI and be able to perform most jobs adequately, but there’s no information on Highlander’s expertise yet…
