Here’s what you get when you spend $80 on Final Fantasy XIII-2

So, Final Fantasy XIII-2‘s coming up fairly soon. Yes, January 31, 2012 can be considered soon. Are we excited about it? I’m sure the answer is mixed. The real question is, are you $79.99 excited about it? That’s the price you’d have to pay for the definitive, collector’s edition.

As to whether or not you’re getting your money’s worth for the extra $20, that’ll be up to you…

Let’s see what you can get for pre-ordering Final Fantasy XIII-2

You may have been burned by Final Fantasy XIII, since it wasn’t exactly the next generation Final Fantasy we all expected, but Square Enix wants people to give that particular entry another chance with Final Fantasy XIII-2. In fact, they’re trying to lure people in with some rather nice pre-order incentives. Well, two of the bonuses are nice. One’s rather anticlimactic.

The best item you can gets comes from preordering Final Fantasy XIII-2 at Amazon…

Opinion: Final Fantasy XIII-2? God, no…

Before anyone starts thinking that I’m having complaints about Final Fantasy in general, stop. I love the majority of the franchise. They usually have good stories involving characters and humor where humor should fit. However, it seems rather contradictory to have a game that is a direct sequel to any Final Fantasy game.

Sure, in some cases, the story is interesting enough and has enough loose ends that we end up having a warranted sequel in some format, much like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. In the case of Final Fantasy VII, there were still characters that you at least liked enough to want to have the story continue. There was also the mystery of the various surviving clones that you could wonder about. With the remaining clones that Sephiroth could be reborn through and the likable characters, it was a continuation of a fantasy rather than a sequel to it.

Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot: 2010′s biggest video game busts

There have been some truly stellar titles released in 2010. Sadly though, there are some that just didn’t live up to their massive hype for one reason or another. As we stuff our face and sit down on the couch for football, family and surely some video games, Gamertell stops to remember the games that will soon be forgotten.

We’ll play the games and tell you what happened so you don’t have to spend, or waste, your time on it. This week, we’re looking at Final Fantasy XIII, the PS3 RPG from Square Enix. Prepare to be spoiled…

Final Fantasy XIII on sale for $19.99 at Amazon

How would you like to own a role playing game that won’t allow you to walk off the beaten path until 20 hours in? Maybe that’s being a bit too harsh because Final Fantasy XIII has a lot of redeeming qualities. This misunderstood RPG is on sale at Amazon for $19.99 on PS3.

TGS 2010: Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII headed to Japan with Easy Mode

Square Enix decided it’s time to release an enhanced version of Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360 in Japan. Just in time for the 2010 Tokyo Game Show too! I guess that was one of the previously announced, secret games Square Enix was hoping to surprise people with. Japan was the only region not to get an Xbox 360 version of the game, until now. (It was a PS3 exclusive there.)

The Japanese Xbox 360 version of FFXIII will be playable at Square Enix’s booth at TGS 2010, though attendees may not be able to see the changes in the demo. Instead of just bringing the Xbox 360 version released worldwide, with Japanese voice acting and subtitles, Square Enix has added a new feature – Easy Mode…

Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 bundle just got more tempting

Look here ladies and gents. Amazon needs to offload some irrelevant merchandise. Every old Xbox 360 that fills the warehouse is becoming an eyesore. Amazon tried to encourage you to buy the Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 bundle for $300, but that wasn’t good enough. Amazon is getting desperate and needs to move these consoles, even if it means slashing another $50 off the price.
