Sandisk reveals its Xbox 360 USB flash drives

By now, many Xbox 360 owners have updated their systems and gained the ability to use usb flash drives as storage alternatives for their consoles. But the Xbox 360 usb push has only just begun. Starting May 5, 2010, Sandisk will begin releasing official Xbox 360 usb flash drives that are pre-configured and ready to work straight out of the box. You can use any usb flash drive with the Xbox 360, but other brands and types will require the user to configure them first.

Sandisk has announced there will be two variations, a $34.99 8gb drive and a $69.99 16gb drive. Both usb flash drives will also come with a one month Xbox LIVE Gold membership, and early adopters who purchase the drives directly from Sandisk will get a lanyard as well…

Your Xbox 360 is now USB friendly

This update means you no longer have to worry about running out of hard drive space if you own an Xbox 360 Arcade or the discontinued 20GB Xbox 360. You can connect any USB flash drive to the console and store demos, saved games and full game installs.

Get your loved one a GBA usb drive or NES/SNES hard drive for Valentine’s Day

Valentines Day is coming up soon, and if your loved one enjoys video games, it could be difficult to find the right gift. After all, there’s been sort of a release lull, and the next influx of new games doesn’t start until March. Plus, if there were any good, new games released, he or she probably bought them with gift cards received over the holidays. Perhaps you should check out 8BitMemory’s Etsy Shop to pick up a custom external hard drive or usb flash drive as a gift this year. They’re special, because they’re housed in SNES, NES or GBA cartridges.

The GBA usb flash drives are the newest items in the 8BitMemory shop. At the moment, there are three varieties. You can get a 4gb drive in a Mario vs. Donkey Kong or Metroid Fusion casing for $39.99, or an 8gb drive in a Super Mario Advance casing for $49.99. Expensive, yes, but they are unique items you probably won’t see anywhere else. You can also place a custom order and choose your own size and cartridge.

If you have a little more cash to spend, and the person you love needs more storage space, perhaps consider an NES or SNES external, portable flash drive…
