Help Momo get home in the hand-drawn RotoAdventures Momo’s Quest

Ah, squirrels. They’re rodents, and can be considered vermin, and yet they still manage to secure a cozy spot in our hearts thanks to their adorable gestures and incredibly fluffy tails. Happy Nutz Studio must agree that there is something endearing about the creatures, as Momo the squirrel is the star of the company’s latest Mac and PC game, RotoAdventures Momo’s Quest.

Poor Momo has been separated from his one true love, a little girl who happens to be his owner. But Momo isn’t the kind of squirrel to let that get him down. He’s going to find his owner, and go through over 20 different areas to get back to her. You control Momo using the mouse in the game, choose whether to go through light or dark areas, earn different Momo’s Quest wallpapers depending on how well you do and even see different endings based on what choices you make for Momo. It really sounds quite well-rounded.

There’s an official RotoAdventures Momo’s Quest trailer as well, which does a wonderful job of showing just how beautiful this game looks…

Point out Mark and Mandi’s differences to make them fall in love

It seems like all of our favorite print puzzles are gradually finding new live in a virtual environment. Remember those “spot the difference” games, where you would be presented with two images, and you’d have to point out where the two differ? Well, now Mark and Mandi’s Love Story offers a new look at those titles, and its up at both Pogo in the form of a free demo and $19.95 full version.

The player is Cupid in Mark and Mandi’s Love Story, and his goal is to help get Mark and Mandy together, and eventually married. This is done by going through four chapters, where in each one you have to solve “spot the difference” puzzles at 40 different areas, and occasionally a mini-game matching, puzzle or “spot the similarity” challenge…

Practice with Professor Heinz Wolff’s Gravity

The “somewhat” educational puzzle game Professor Heinz Wolff’s Gravity, often referred to as Gravity, is now available in a PC demo form. The goal of the game is to use gravity and physics to solve certain puzzles and push a button at the end. The full DS, PC and Wii versions of the game are scheduled to be released in Europe on November 28, 2008 and in North America sometime after that.

It sounds like the PC version of Gravity may be the one to invest in if you’re interested. It has 100 normal puzzle levels, 20 sandbox levels where you can just play around with the game’s various tools and items, four mini-games and an editor which lets you create new levels to play. The Wii version is “almost” identical to the PC version, except…

Practice gentrification with Build-a-Lot 3: Passport to Europe

Build-a-Lot 3: Passport to Europe, a new entry in HipSoft’s house flipping/gentrification Build-a-Lot series, has just been released online. Like all of the Build-a-Lot games, the third entry has you buying, fixing up and perfecting homes in a set area so rich people will come in and buy them from you.

Build-a-Lot 3 sounds really similar to Build-a-Lot 2. Both have the house flipping aspect, and require you to think about the area to create curb appeal that makes homes look good from the outside. Also, both games want you to enchance the area. Build-a-Lot 2 does this with shops and parks, and Build-a-Lot 3 does this with landmarks and service buildings…

Kivi’s Underworld officially released topside

Soldak Entertainment’s Kivi’s Underworld, a fantasy, hack-and-slash dungeon crawler for PCs and Macs has just been released on an unsuspecting world. Its a basic battler, where the lumen Kivi encounters dark elves while on a mining expedition, and now he and his friends have to save their friends and family from the dark elves.

The game looks really dark. Not content-wise (though that is a bit dark as well), but graphics wise. Most of the screenshots for Kivi’s Underworld have very few colors represented and set a definite atmosphere – but could also make it difficult for some player. I didn’t have any trouble though, when I sampled the demo, so its the sort of thing that may vary from person to person…

ToadTrip has launched the PC version of Zompocalypse

ToadTrip has released the first episode of the PC game Zompocalypse just in time for Halloween, 2008. To make things even better, the game is half off, only $9.99, in honor of the holiday. ToadTrip hasn’t announced when this Halloween discount will end and the game will return to $19.99, so it may be a good idea to pounce on it now.

I have to say, Zompocalypse is pretty fun. At least, the demo is. Its a standard, side-scrolling shooter (like Alien Hominid or Metal Slug), where you destroy zombies. There is also a co-op multiplayer mode, where two people can shoot down zombies and you can level up both your character and weapons. There’s even an online scoreboard and it supports use of the Xbox 360 controllers…

Charitable Red Cross Game created and released by Spil Games

Games created for charitable organizations to help raise awareness and money are always a welcome sight. The latest is The Red Cross Game: Emergency Response Unit by I Sioux Game Productions and Spil Games. In order to celebrate the Dutch Red Cross’ 100th anniversary, the companies teamed up to create a Red Cross computer simulation title. While there is a free-to-play version, a portion of the the $19.99 full PC version helps support the Red Cross…

Free Dynasty Warriors 6 PC demo released

Koei has just announced that the demo of the November 18, 2008 PC release Dynasty Warriors 6 is now available online. The free demo gives fans of the series and curious gamers the opportunity to test out the PC version of the game, so they can determine if the game is worth their time. The PS2 version of the game also will be released on November 18, and Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are already available…

Serious Games releases browser-based demo for Global Conflicts: Latin America

The release of an intriguing, educational Mac and PC game is just on the horizon – Global Conflicts: Latin America is going to be released October 23, 2008. This European game attempts to teach students (and gamers) about the problems in Latin America by casting them as a journalist sent to the region to report on what’s happening there. There are five missions, each one with multiple issues that can be addressed, and each mission is created in a way which would allow a student to finish it in under two hours…

Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena blossoms

MumboJumbo has decided to take a bunch of casual game concepts and jam them all into one game with the newly announced Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena. The title, which will be available in stores in December 2008, incorporates elements of hidden object, puzzle and adventure games. It also is the first game of the just announced Samantha Swift series.

Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena stars Samantha, as she searches through six different areas to find the shield of Athena and Athena’s missing Roses for The Secrets Lost Museum. At the same time, treasure hunter Ravena Stryker is waiting in the wings to snatch any valuable items Sam might find. So you have to help Sam find all six of Athena’s Roses, and other assorted objects, so she can add them to the museum and keep a treasure hunter from selling them. There are 50 levels and 700 hidden objects in the full version of the game, as well as Hidden Object and Puzzle-Solving Adventure modes…
