If you are heading to PAX Prime in Seattle WA this week (August 26 through 28, 2011) you will definitely want to check out Bethesda’s booth (#1314). Bethesda is the creator of the awesome Elder Scrolls series along with the Fallout games.

E3 2011: THQ holding a bikini car wash in parking lot

Let face it, LA is hot and you could probably use a little break from all the heat and gaming awesomeness of E3 2011 (OK, maybe just the first part.)

THQ, publisher of Saint’s Row is hosting a free bikini car wash in the Saint’s Row themed parking lot for E3. The lot is located across from the Staples Center – where E3 is taking place – on Figueroa Street.

High Voltage Software knows how to throw a party with photos (updated)

Last Friday (October 29, 2010, High Voltage Software (Iron Man 2, Conduit, Dora the Explorer) threw an awesome Halloween party for it’s staff and the press in Hoffman Estates Illinois. And we were there.

There was live music, dancing, food, and a free bar all night. The live music was preformed by Mana Kintorso and Warm Ones who both performed very well.

They served hot dogs and veggie wraps to all the guests plus a plenty of soda and alcohol. They also had a lot of candy laying about and free glow sticks for everyone.

Plus High Voltage was awesome enough to give out free games.

PAX 2010: My T-shirt swag collection

One of the things I love about going to video game events is not just checking out demos of upcoming titles, but the swag. Who doesn’t love free stuff? But of course, there’s good swag and bad swag. Bad swag are items that you’d never in your right mind use again, or are so flimsy that it gets damaged during your flight back home. Good swag refers to items that are sturdy and actually still useful, months or even years later. T-shirts definitely fall in the category of “good swag”.

E3 2010: Visit Natsume’s booth and pick up a pony

There’s only an hour left of E3 2010! Before you head home, you may want to stop by Natsume’s booth (#823) in the South Hall. If you take the time to try out one of four DS games, you can get an awesome souvenier – a pony!

No, not a real pony. A stuffed pony. Well, horse really. Natsume has a treasure trove of stuffed Harvest Moon horses available. They’re plush, soft and small enough to fit into your carry-on…

E3 2010: Exspect’s got awesome swag

Club Nintendo’s “year” ending for 2010 Elite Reward

Club Nintendo, Nintendo’s reward program, is wrapping up what it calls its “year” in terms of Gold and Platinum Status rewards.

In order to earn the 2010 reward, Club Nintendo members must earn either 300 Coins (Gold Status) or 600 Coins (Platinum Status) by June 30, 2010. The nice part about these annual freebies is that they are in addition to any other Club Nintendo item you might have already claimed in the past 12 months.

Join Best Buy’s Reward Zone, get free Splinter Cell: Conviction skull cap

I recently cashed in some Reward Zone gift certificates at Best Buy and, after swiping my card for the essentially free purchase, I was handed a black, knit Tom Clancey’s Splinter Cell: Conviction skull cap.

Maybe it was the good natured 3-year-old in my cart, maybe it was my winning personality or maybe it was just my Best Buy Reward Zone card. OK, it was most likely the latter. Looking at my receipt, right after my Reward Zone Card ID number is a line labeled “RZ Bonus – Reward Zone Bonus Offer” for free ninety-nine (aka $0.00).

Don’t forget about Free Comic Book Day 2010

It’s your friendly annual reminder to go out and visit your friendly neighborhood comic shop and pick up some free comics.

Free Comic Book Day is an annual event that takes place the first Saturday in May (May 1, 2010) to help generate – or regenerate – interest in comic books.

A lot of the big comic companies release titles for the day and, depending on your shop, you can often find a few decent indies as well. Some even dump out those quarter boxes simply to get them out of the store.
