Review: Pokemon Black and White for DS
I suppose in one way I’m exactly the audience Nintendo wants for a new Pokemon game: I’m completely new to the franchise. I’ve never played a previous Pokemon game, I’ve never watched a movie, and I’ve never held a card. I’m not entirely sure how the Gamertell.com preview copies ended up in my hands, but they did. And despite myself, I’m glad they did.
Adopt Pokemon Black and White early to get Victini
Nintendo has just given Pokemon fans around North America a reason to pick up a launch copy of Pokemon Black or White. No, it isn’t some kind of pre-order bonus incentive. (That would be quite consider though.) If you are an early adopter, you can download the new legendary pokemon Victini to your game…
Important Importables Review: Pokemon Black
Pokemon Black has all the hallmarks of a typical portable Pokemon game. Players are able to travel through an unfamiliar continent as a male or female avatar, in the hopes of researching to fill a pokedex, training pokemon and battling to become a pokemon champion. This journey starts out slightly differently than before, as there are now two friendly rivals from the same town as you, Cheren and Belle, and the hometown’s pokemon professor is a woman, Professor Araragi….
People like Pokemon Black more than Pokemon White
Media Create has the latest Japanese game sales figures, and it reveals that one version of the latest Pokemon DS game is doing slightly better than the other. Combined, Pokemon Black and White‘s sales easily take the top spot. Even if they weren’t combined, they’d be in the top two slots. But if they were split up, Pokemon Black would win…
2.63 million people wanted Pokemon Black and White
We all know Pokemon is popular, but now we have a nice clear figure to help determine how popular it really is. After being available for only two days in Japan, over 2.63 million copies were sold. Enterbrain collected the stats and revealed them September 21, 2010 to Famitsu. If it can sell that well in two days, imagine what the sales projections for the month will be…
Pokemon Black & White has Live Caster video chat, Pass By tag mode
The latest Pokemon Black and White feature announcement is just ridiculous. Well, it isn’t totally ridiculous. Two of the features sound pretty cool and one sounds just outrageous. The August 2010 issue of the Japanese magazine CoroCoro is to thank for the latest updates.
First, there’s going to be a tag mode. It sounds like the Pokemon Black and White Pass By tag mode could be similar to the Dragon Quest IX Canvass for Guests tag mode. Once you’ve acquired the C-Gear in the game (I’m guessing its a Pokegear accessory), you can go into standby mode and walk around, getting some kind of special bonuses by walking past other Pokemon Black and White players.
Pokemon Black and White will also introduce High Link to the series. When you access the High Link, you can go into a huge overworld where you can interact with other players…
Japan Import: Pokemon Black and White arrives in Japan September 18, 2010
The future is looking bright for Pokemon fans! Nintendo has just announced the Japanese release date for Pokemon Black and White. If you intend to import one of the latest entries in the DS RPG series, then it’ll be available September 18, 2010.
The September release date is good news for worldwide fans, as it means the Spring 2011 should be right on schedule. You know you can’t keep Pokemon fans waiting. They practically demand a new title every year! Perhaps we’ll see it in the US sometime in May or June, 2011.
There’s also some more good news. A new Pokemon Black and White trailer has just been released. Let’s check it out…
Japan Import: The world gets its first look at Pokemon Black and White
Morning everyone! It’s April 15, 2010, and that means that the Pokemon Black and White website updated today! It isn’t a huge update, like we all were expecting. If anything, it’s downright disappointing.
See, only a few screenshots were added to the Pokemon Black and White website. And these six screenshots aren’t even new! They already appeared in two Japanese magazines, Famitsu and CoroCoro Comics. You’d think Nintendo would take the opportunity to show visitors just a little bit more. Maybe another new pokemon or two….
Japanese Import: Prepare for Pokemon Black and White
So much for rumors that the next DS Pokemon games would be made for the 3DS. Nintendo has announced that Pokemon Black and White are currently in development for the DS and scheduled for a Fall, 2010 release in Japan.
While the games have been formally announced and a Pokemon Black and White website has been launched, there still isn’t much solid information available on the new games…
Gamertell Review: Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver with Pokewalker for DS
In October, 2000, Nintendo released Pokemon Gold and Silver for the Game Boy Color in North America. Now, almost 10 years later, the games have been revived and reborn as Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver for the DS. It’s a welcome arrival, especially since many Pokemon fans may have missed out, and not even been old enough, to play the original incarnations.
Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver‘s story is a familiar one. A young boy or girl from a small town happens to live near a renowned pokemon professor, in this case Professor Elm, and loves pokemon. One day, he have the opportunity to assist this professor and get a pokemon of his very own. After completing a short errand for the professor, it is discovered that he has a talent for working with and training pokemon, and sets out to face all of the region’s eight gym leaders. Along the way there’ll also be bad guys to defeat (Team Rocket), a rival to trounce and finally the Elite Four to conquer.
However, HeartGold and SoulSilver are almost like two games in one. Once you’ve done all that good stuff above in the game’s main region, Johto, players will have the opportunity to return to Kanto, the region traversed in the original Pokemon games…
