Game Informer reader posts details on South Park: The Game
We knew it would only be a matter of time before some Game Informer reader posted information regarding the recently revealed Obsidian-developed RPG South Park: The Game on the internet. We now know a ton of information including four of the five character classes (adventurer, paladin, rogue and wizard), the gameplay style and little touches thrown in by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
Obsidian and THQ bringing us South Park: The Game
A new South Park game is currently in development at Obsidian, and will be published by THQ. South Park: The Game was revealed today as the January 2012 cover game for Game Informer magazine. As with all Game Informer reveals, details will be very scarce until either the magazine reaches subscriber’s mailboxes, or until someone leaks the article online.
Borderlands 2 out in 2012, appearing at GamesCom and Pax Prime
The rumors are real! Gearbox Software has been working on Borderlands 2 a followup to the surprisingly successful Borderlands. I guess that helps explain why the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition was a $14.99 download on the PlayStation Store the week of July 18, 2011. The follow up will be a multiplatform game as well, available on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC and should be available after April 1, 2012, since Take-Two wants to release it in the 2013 fiscal year.
Clear your name in Bethesda’s Dishonored coming 2012
Bethesda Softworks and Arkane Studios are talking up Dishonored, an action/stealth title with an impressive pedigree. The game’s co-creators are Raphael Colantonio (lead designer on Arx Fatalis) and Harvey Smith (lead designer of Deus Ex).
The game’s star is Corvo, bodyguard to the empress of Dunwall. She gets murdered at the beginning of the game, and Corvo is blamed. Things go bad very fast as Corvo becomes a wanted man. Luckily for him, he’s an assassin who also has some serious magic powers.
Rayman Origins available holiday 2011 at retail
Almost a year ago, Rayman Origins was debuted during E3 2010 at Ubisoft’s press conference. This game was visually striking at first glance and was created by a team of five people. Rayman Origins was supposed to be released last holiday season, but was delayed right before Christmas. In the Assassins’s Creed: Revelations issue of Game Informer, Rayman Origins was revealed to have a holiday 2011 release date for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Gaming journalists auction signed DSes for charity
It seems that everyone is doing his or her part, no matter how large or small, to donate money to aid the victims of Japan’s double disaster earthquake and tsunami. Even gaming journalists have gotten in the picture. Both Peter Rojas and Meagan Marie are auctioning off their autographed Nintendo DS handhelds in the name of charity.
Saint’s Row: The Third has upgradable weapons and a leveling system
Saint’s Row: The Third is the cover story of the latest issue of Game Informer. Game Informer is the first publication to get details about the game. Some subscribers have already gotten their copies, and are filling the internet with details about Saint’s Row: The Third. The game has undergone a lot of changes that all seem to be for the better. Weapon customization is a new feature that players are sure to get a kick out of. For example, there is a weapon called the Gravedigger which is basically a triple-barrel shotgun. Ouch.

Saint’s Row 3 The images uncovered by Neogaf were true. THQ has confirmed the third game in the Saint’s Row franchise will be Saint’s Row: The Third. The game is being developed by Volition for release on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC during the 2011 holiday season. Details are very scarce, but we can learn a lot more about this game in the April issue of Game Informer magazine. Subscribers should start getting their issues any day now.
Rumor: Saint’s Row 3 releases during Holiday 2011
Saint’s Row 3 is coming. We know it, and THQ knows it. The question is when the game will be released. A couple images surfaced on Neogaf that are supposedly from Game Informer, THQ and Volition. They contain the trademark purple attire worn by the Saints, and the fleur-de-lis symbol that identifies the Saints.
Fresh Tomb Raider details leak out
Square Enix officially announced Tomb Raider yesterday. Tomb Raider is a reboot of the franchise that will start by telling the origins of Lara Croft. The first details on the game are included in the January 2011 issue of Game Informer magazine. Since this is the internet, scans from the magazine have already been leaked. The entire cover story is now online and we’ve cherry picked some of the more pertinent details for you.
