E3 2010: Video Games Live performing in LA during E3 week

So, you’re part of the teeming masses who can’t attend E3 this month, eh?

Other than reading about E3 2010 (at Gamertell of course!) and play games as normal, what other gaming-related activities can you do?

Well, if you live in the LA area, you can attend a concert by Video Games Live…

Gamertell Original: Interview with OC Remix Delta-Q-Delta project leader Lee Barber

If you are a fan of videogame music in any capacity, you owe it to yourself to check out OverClocked ReMix – a completely free-to-download site that offers some of the most professional sounding remixes (more accurately, re-arrangements) of game-based music anywhere in the world. Recently, the community-run site featured a full album of remixed music inspired by Doom II – titled Delta-Q-Delta, which was completed entirely by a small team of dedicated musicians and artists. Gamertell.com recently had the opportunity to speak with the project leader, Lee Barber (aka “The Orichalcon“) about the nature of “fan art”, crafting professional-grade work on nothing but blood, sweat, and tears, and how the soundscapes of classic games like Doom II lend themselves to such varied musical styles.

Gamertell.com: First off, what got you involved in the OC ReMix community? Were you a musician or a gamer first (or is this a “chicken-or-the-egg” situation?)

OverClocked ReMix announces release of Final Fantasy VII: Voices of the Lifestream

Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground soundtrack announced

Activision has just announced the full track listing for skate title Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground, featuring a monster list of more than 50 songs (plus a playable demo of Guitar Hero 3 on the Xbox 360 version), making it one of the most musically inclined non-music games to come out this year. The game will offer a venerable melting pot of punk, hip-hop, rock, and alternative; mixing genres with the cheerful abandon of a recent Guitar Hero title.

Furthermore, MTV News has also reported that Beastie Boy Adam Yauch (MCA) will be a playable skater in the game, continuing the fine tradition of Tony Hawk games featuring non-pro skater celebs as playable characters.

Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground is set to launch on The Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, PS2, and Nintendo DS on October 9, 2007.

OverClocked ReMix joins Video Games Live this weekend in DC
