Dead Space 2 outselling its predecessor 2-to-1
According to John Schappert, EA’s Chief Operating Officer, in Dead Space 2‘s first week of life on retail shelves there were nearly 2 million copies shipped and it’s already outselling the original game on a 2-to-1 basis. It seems that the work put into the game as well as some of the ads that were running about the game – especially the hilarious “Your mom’s going to hate it” ads – definitely struck a chord with gaming consumers. Congratulations to EA and Visceral Games.
Nintendo responds to Apple’s claim that iPod Touch is “world’s most popular portable game player”
In Apple’s press release sent out yesterday (September 1, 2010) regarding the new iPod Touch, there’s a curious and somewhat enigmatic claim that reads: “iPod touch is the world’s most popular portable game player.”
That’s a very bold claim considering Nintendo announced the DS line (DS, DS Lite, DSi and XL) had sold around 129 million units as of May 2010…
Cheap Ass Games: Ubisoft uber sale at GamersGate
Ah, downloadable games. If you already embrace the relatively less pricey and Earth-freindly alternative to physical discs in a plastic shell, then you may really dig the sale at GamersGate.
