Gamersgate has an uber 2011 holiday sale with some great daily deals

Fresh games often come out with a hefty premium price, but the price often drops in a month or two when the hotness finally cools off. After that, the game tends to be forgotten in the rush of next “A title”, and the game doesn’t really sell regardless of the price. This is a shame, because often those “golden oldie” games of just a few months ago are pretty good, and sometimes are even better than when they first came out, thanks to patches and player mods.

Gamersgate is having a holiday sale featuring many games of yestermonth…

Cyber Monday 2009: GamersGate’s downloadable PC games sale (Win and Mac)

Digital download game site GamersGate is offering up to 70% off for its Cyber Monday 2009 sale.

Since it is a download site, the games are for PCs running either Windows or Mac. Oh yeah, there’s still love for the Mac-based PCs out there.

Here’s a sampling of GamersGate’s Cyber Monday deals:

Gamersgate now supports Macs

E3 2009 is always an active period filled with all sorts of video game related announcements. Mac users should be pleased with >Gamersgate’s latest news. The digital game distribution site has just opened a Mac game store. No longer will Mac users feel left out, looking enviously at Gamersgate’s wide selection of Windows PC-only games. There’s now a store just for them, filled with all of the latest games waiting to be downloaded.

The layout isn’t changed, but the content is all Mac specific. You’ll see only the most popular and newest Mac games on the front page. No more video game envy!

At the moment there are 48 Mac games in the Gamersgate library…

Cheap Ass Games: Ubisoft uber sale at GamersGate

Ah, downloadable games. If you already embrace the relatively less pricey and Earth-freindly alternative to physical discs in a plastic shell, then you may really dig the sale at GamersGate. And, of course, we like to spread the word any time there are game sales and cheap games out there, especially in this cruddy economy.

The digital game store is having an Ubisoft sale featuring nineteen PC games available reduced 25% and 50% until May 3, 2009. Some of the noteworthy titles include…

A Vampyre Story stars, you guessed it, a vampire

Who loved old Lucas Arts adventure games like The Curse of Monkey Island? We loved old Lucas Arts adventure games like The Curse of Monkey Island! No, a remake of that game isn’t coming out (we wish). Instead, there’s something that’s equally good – Bill Tiller, a former Lucas Arts employee who worked on The Curse of Monkey Island, and Autumn Moon Entertainment have just released a new adventure game called A Vampyre Story. If you live in Europe, you can find A Vampyre Story in stores today, but others of us in the US will have to resort to GamersGate to purchase and download the game for $29.99.

A Vampyre Story is the somewhat-tragic tale of Mona De Lafitte, who wanted more than anything to become an opera star. And she was pretty good too – on her way to sing at the Paris Opera and everything. That is, until vampire baron Shrowdy Von Kiefer looked at her and saw lunch. Now she’s a vampire and trapped in Draxsylvania…

GamersGate to carry Capcom games

Capcom fans who happen to be PC gamers will soon find their addiction fed by GamersGate. GamersGate, an online video game distribution site, and Capcom have entered into a deal which will allow users to purchase Capcom titles from the GamersGate site.

Initially, only a few games will be offered for download. The press release only mentions Plunder and Bionic Commando Rearmed as upcoming titles. Strategy Informer speculates that Devil May Cry 4 could end up being made available through GamersGate, and I have to agree that it seems very reasonable.
