Gamertell Review: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for DS
Like many of its predecessors, this is a strange story starring a little guy in a green, elfish suit wielding a sword (called Link, of course) and a princess (Zelda) that needs to be rescued, though not quite in the princess-in-another-castle way. This time there is a mysterious train and disappearing tracks that need to be re-mapped by beating level bosses and involving Zelda as a ghostly, albeit chatty, presence.
Exchange cruddy games for these three worthwhile Wii titles
We all have aunts and uncles who just don’t quite get it. They never stick to your wish list, and they never check Gamertell for sound advice. And so, you end up with “Scene It: Twilight” because “…that’s popular with you kids now, right?” Well, let’s turn lemon into lemonades, as your aunt and uncle would say, and put those exchanges (or gift cards) to good use on great Wii games you may have missed this year.
Ubisoft’s 50% off digital downloads deal during Christmas week 2009
If you subscribe to the Ubisoft email newsletter – or have been following the Gamertell Game Company Christmas cards post - then you already have the nifty coupon code from Ubisoft. If not, read on.
It’s basically a big fat coupon for 50% off all the digital download games through Ubisoft’s online store (excluding Avatar and R.U.S.E.). It’s valid from December 21 through December 27, 2009.
Gamertell Review: Pokemon Rumble for Wii
Pokemon Rumble, one of Nintendo’s latest WiiWare offerings, both capitalizes on an established series and already existing graphics. It uses the pokemon designs from My Pokemon Ranch and relies on the Pokemon namesake to lure people in to a surprisingly enjoyable, and often addictive action game. It offers a more casual and effortless experience than most Pokemon fans expect from the series, which may help lure in less experienced and casual gamers.
Pokemon Rumble starts with a single wind-up toy Rattata. You see it sneak its way through a crack into the rank C battle royale battle, and then attempt to help him win. Sadly, he’s only a level 26 toy pokemon and the other participants are much, much stronger. He gets beaten, and dropped outside into the preparation area. The battle royale doors shut behind him as he’s tossed out…

Pick up a last minute, Animal Crossing stocking stuffer
You really should have finished your Christmas shopping by now. I mean, it’s already December 18, 2009. But some people like to keep pushing things back to the last minute. Perhaps it isn’t a bad idea, since lots of stores and sites seem to run last minute sales the weekend before Christmas. Anyways, if you need a last minute stocking stuffer for a Nintendo fan on your wishlist, you should check out Play-Asia’s Animal Crossing plush toy sale.
Play-Asia is currently running an Animal Crossing Plush Doll Special. Normally, an Animal Crossing 7 inch stuffed toy costs $21.90, but they’re now $11.90. That’s just about 50% off.
There is a catch though – you don’t know which plush toy you’ll get. There are five different varieties, Rosie the blue cat, Tom Nook the raccoon/tanuki, Bianca the white wolf, Margie the white elephant or Champ the monkey. Oh, and it’s a limited time promotion as well. So if you want one, you have to act quickly. If you choose one of the more expensive shipping options, you can probably get it before Christmas!
If you’re not interested in that, look up Tales of VS. for the PSP or The Idolm@ster: Dearly Stars for the DS…
Gamertell Review: Katamari Forever for PS3
The weirdness that is the sticky ball Katamari game franchise is not easy to convey.
It’s wacky, mostly incomprehensible yet inexplicably enjoyable. It’s a game without being game like and fun without reason.
The most recent release, Katamari Forever, takes all that absurdity, bounds it in its own wad of graphical awesomeness and spits it back at you with high-def precision. Sure, it doesn’t make much sense but it sure is a lot of fun.
Gamertell Review: Nyko’s Intercooler TS fan accessory for PS3
After reading a few forum suggestions on other sites that implied the PS3 ran too hot to remain stable, I contacted Nyko for an Intercooler fan system to see if maybe, just maybe, the system was over heating and a fan would help.
Turns out that it was and it did.
Find out about this easy-to-install fan accessory that brought my PS3 back to life…

Gamertell Review: MySims Agents for Wii
When I heard about MySims Agents, I was skeptical. While both prior MySims games were straightforward simulation and adventure games, where you’d need to create building and furniture on request, MySims Agents breaks away from the simulation elements and is strictly an adventure game. After playing, I’m pleasantly surprised and would consider MySims Agents my favorite entry in the series.
MySims Agents starts out simple. You’re a local detective who’s hoping to one day become a special agent. Until then, you’re stuck performing minor tasks. The one at hand is proving a young girl named Poppy’s dog is hers, and doesn’t belong to a nefarious looking individual named Morcubus. After doing some rudimentary work to prove that Dogwood is Poppy’s pouch, beyond any reasonable doubt, you realize someone’s been watching you!
You’ve proven yourself to be a great detective, so you’re given the opportunity to be a special agent for your hometown…
