Make Amazon’s Uncharted and DualShock 3 bundle a last minute gift

Is all your holiday shopping is done? There are some people out there still procrastinating, believe it or not. If you have a PS3 owner on your gift list that you still haven’t bought something for, then stop by Amazon. There’s a special $59.99 bundle that includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and a Dualshock 3 controller for sale.

It’s great, because you’re not only giving the gift of a fantastic game, you’re also providing the recipient with a much needed, official Sony Dualshock 3 controller. Normally, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune costs $29.99 and a Dualshock 3 controller is $54.99, so getting the game and a controller for $59.99 is a fantastic deal. It’s like you’re only paying for the controller, and getting the game for free.

Amazon has the item in stock, so if you order it you should have no trouble getting it. One-day shipping is available, to make sure it arrives by December 22, 2009…

Target discounting DS games and music game bundles until December 19

If you buy your Sunday paper a day early, you were likely greeted by a wonderful Target ad. Target’s sale circular for December 13-19, 2009 not only promises $25 DS games, but also gift cards with DS or Wii purchases and some major game bundle deals. These deals are worth lining up for, as the add states there will be no rainchecks for these sale games and that quantities are limited.

The DS games are a huge highlight, since almost all of the games displayed on the front page of the ad regularly cost $34. The ad states that over 20 DS games will be part of the sale, but specifically shows The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Style Savvy, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, Jonas and Imagine Sweet 16. Above the games, the ad also shows that every $169.99 DSi will come with a $10 Target gift card.

Journey a few pages further in and you’ll see $88 game bundles. The ad says nothing about limited quantities or rainchecks next to these four items, so you may have a better chance of getting one of them than one of the sale DS games. The four $88 discounted bundles are…

Important Importables: 2009 PSP import game gift guide

Black Friday and Cyber Monday may have passed, but there’s a good chance you haven’t found all of the perfect gifts yet. If there’s a PSP owner on your list, perhaps a 2009 Japanese PSP release would make the perfect stocking stuffer. Important Importables is here to help out, with a 10 game gift guide filled with titles that could make someone very happy.

As with the DS gift guide, I’ve visited all of the import game sites I’ve discussed in the column in the past and trust to check for a price range. So when you check a game, you’ll also be able to see the highest and lowest prices out there. This also reaffirms the valuable, “Don’t buy JBox import games without checking other sites first” advice. ($80 for Persona 3 Portable and $88 for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva? That’s about $20 more than any other import site!)

Kotobukiya offering 30% off pre-orders

If you did well-made statues and action fugues, then you should really dig this coupon.

Kotobukiya, makers of many high-end statues based on comics and video games, is offering 30% off any pre-ordered item on its site.

The code is good for everyone November 6 through December 31, 2009, and can be used on as many orders as you’d like. It’s not good on the much anticipated Star Wars lightsaber chopsticks and, since these are all pr-order items, they will not ship by December 31, 2009…

Amazon’s New Super Mario Bros Wii bundle is awesome

If you have some readily available, disposable income, a Wii and a distinct lack of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, then you’ve got to check out Amazon. Amazon has an exclusive, special edition New Super Mario Bros. Wii gift set available that comes with the game, a lunchbox, four Wii remote decals and a t-shirt.

The best part is the price. Normally, this Amazon exclusive bundle will cost you $69.99. However, there’s a $10 discount being applied at the moment so you can get everything for $59.99. The game alone costs $49.99, so it’s like you’re getting the t-shirt, lunchbox and remote decals for only $10. It’s a seriously good deal.

This bundle is a limited edition item, so if you’re interested, hurry and pick it up now…

Gamertell Review: Able Planet’s True Fidelity PS500MM stereo headphones

The True Fidelity PS500MM stereo headset claims to offer boosted sound that will not harm your ears.

Linx Audio, the tech behind this headphone’s supposedly superior sound, was originally developed with long-term audio aficionados in mind, especially those who cranked things up to 11 way too often. By remixing the sound on the fly so it sounds louder without actually being louder, Able Planet claims its headset will save your cochlea from wear.

Important Importables: 2009 DS import game gift guide

Christmas and Hanukkah are fast approaching, and with them the holiday shopping season. An import video game can be a great gift, as it could be something people normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to play and enjoy. There’ve been a lot of great DS releases in Japan in 2009, and today Gamertell’s recommending 10 that could make fantastic gifts.

To help make shopping easier, I’ve visited the online stores I’ve mentioned in Important Importables (and bought from before) and checked the prices on the recommended games. I’ve used that to create a general price range, giving the lowest and highest prices, so you have a better idea of what you may have to pay for the recommended games…

It’s really frustrating when you just don’t know what to get for someone but if that someone likes video games, you’re in luck.

If you are shopping for a video games fan, there are different options and stellar games this year, so to make things a little easier, here are a few suggestions based on the most popular categories…

The sequel to 2007′s amazing underwater shooter is coming up soon – making its debut on February 9, 2009. $99.99 Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter now available

Big news for Xbox 360 owners, Microsoft has officially released the Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter in North America. It works the same way as the previous Wireless Network Adapter, allowing Xbox 360s to connect to wireless internet by plugging into the USB slot, only it now has support for 802.11 a/b/g/n protocol, has two antenna and is black. The old Wireless Network Adapter only had 802.11 a/b/g support, was white and had one antenna. It costs $99.99.

GameStop’s got the Wireless N Networking Adapter right now and is shipping them out. Amazon, on the other hand, won’t have it in stock until November 12, 2009. However, GameStop is charging $99.99 and Amazon’s only charging $87.99. So it’s worth the wait.
