Apple crowns iPod Touch as the number one portable game player

Apple made a declaration earlier today that the iPod Touch is the number one portable game player available right now. That makes it more popular than the DS, 3DS and PSP. This claim certainly isn’t doing anything to discredit the concerns that traditional gaming handhelds will be snuffed out by the likes of iPhones, iPods Android smartphones and whatever else awaits us on the horizon.

Redbox locations nationwide will rent games starting Friday

Looking to rent a game for the weekend? Starting tomorrow (June 17, 2011) Redbox kiosks from around the country will start stocking PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii games. You may have noticed games in your local Redbox before, but now everyone will be able to take part in it.

PlayStation Plus Update: Defend your tower for discounts (November 30, 2010)

This week’s PlayStation Plus feature is a free mini game called Vector TD for the PlayStation Portable. In this game players must strategically construct towers along a path to attack oncoming Vectoids and keep them away from your base by destroying them before they reach the end of the path. The more successful you are at eliminating the Vectoids the more upgrade and bonus options you unlock to help you defend against the harder Vectoids in the next wave.

Toys R’ Us has buy one game, get one game for $5 Black Friday deal

Toys R’ Us has not advertised this Black Friday deal, but several sources have confirmed it’s for real. You can get several new releases for $5 if you purchase one of the other titles on the list at full price. There’s great titles on there including Halo:Reach. There’s also a Cabela hunting game, but I am not here to judge anyone’s gaming tastes. The sale is from Thursday night at 10 p.m. – 1 p.m. Black Friday (November 26, 2010)

Disc Replay Black Friday sale

Semi-regional Disc Replay stores are getting in on the sweet Black Friday sale action.

Disc Replay sells and buys used copies of DVDs, CDs and video games of all kinds. There are stores all over Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan.

If you visit any location from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., you can buy two items and get the third free. That includes nearly everything in the store including mix-and-match movies, music, box sets, games and accessories.

Telltale has released a Back to the Future game for Facebook

Telltale Games is branching out into the world of Facebook with it’s new free to play game Back to the Future: Blitz Through Time.

This kicks off a major new initiative for the company’s publishing strategy that will see complementary free-to-play social games launch in advance of many major Telltale game releases. In this case, Back to the Future: Blitz Through Time is promoting their upcoming 5 part episodic Back to the Future game for the PC, Mac, Playstation Network, and IPad.
