Review: Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for DS

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is just begging to be a prime time TV show. The main character has just been shot and killed. He doesn’t know why or by whom, but he’s obtained the ability to travel back in time four minutes to alter the fates of others. Also, there’s a talking dog, a detective with a pigeon on his head, a chicken restaurant, a giant submarine, and a punk rock guitarist who flushes secret messages through a prison toilet to a guy with a sausage shaped head.

Get Ghost Trick and Phoenix Wright for $40

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney are so BFFs. That’s why Capcom is a little reluctant to break the pair up. So instead of just ripping them apart at the factory, they’re offering gamers a special Capcom Store deal. If you pay $39.99, you get both Ghost Trick and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Sure, it’s losing out, since Phoenix Wright was originally a $29.99 game and it ends up being $10 in this bundle, but that’s the kind of company Capcom is…

Capcom’s bringing 9 games to PAX 2010

The 2010 Penny Arcade Expo is happening this week in Seattle, Washington, and if you registered for the event you can see a lot of Capcom’s newest games. It’s going on September 3-5, 2010, and booth 652 will have nine games set up for attendees to try out.

If you were following along with Capcom’s E3 2010 news, then the company’s PAX 2010 games should look familiar…

E3 2010: Hands-on with Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

The first game I got to try on the E3 2010 show floor today was Capcom’s Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, a DS detective adventure game. While Ghost Trick does share some commonalities with Phoenix Wright, they’re fairly few and far between.

The Ghost Trick demo began where the game begins. There’s what appears to be a junkyard, and a man is narrating what’s happening. A woman is being held at gunpoint by a villain. Unfortunately, our hero can’t help, because he’s already dead. He soon discovers that, while he’s dead, he’s not useless.

Our hero Sissel, who remains nameless for much of the demo, can use Ghost Tricks. He can momentarily pause time, shift his soul to possess inanimate objects, then restart time to make something happen…

E3 2010: Capcom’s bringing eight cool games to the show

Capcom, one of the best known and most loved third party developers and publishers, has just announced it’s E3 2010 game lineup for the show! It is totally time to get excited. Capcom has one of the biggest booths in the West Hall of the LA Convention Center this year, and it looks like it’s going to be filling that space with tons of fantastic games. So far, eight games have been confirmed for the event, but Capcom is also reporting that people should prepare themselves for a few surprises as well.

Let’s take a brief overview of the eight DS, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 games Capcom is bringing to E3 2010…
