Xbox Live Update for the week of March 20 through 26, 2011

Who you gonna call for four-player, ghost-trapping arcade action? Oh, I think you know. Ghostbusters:Sanctum of Slime hits the marketplace this week, a top-down arcade scrolling adventure in the style of Gauntlet or Smash TV. Four new characters will dodge slime, cross streams and drive the new ECTO-4WD. There is local and online multiplayer, in fact this game is designed with multiplayer in mind. This Atari release launches at 800 Microsoft Points ($10), less than the usual 1200 MP for brand new releases. You have the tools, you have the talent.

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime introduces a new generation of heroes

Nearing three decades after the original Ghostbusters split our sides, an upcoming Atari video game is helping pass the torch to four new heroes. There have been numerous cartoons, comics and games depicting the paranormal investigation professionals over the years. Sanctum of Slime features four new characters created specifically for this game, making it a unique endeavor.

The game’s story is written by Tom Waltz, IDW Publishing Editor at IDW which also publishes the Ghostbusters comic books.

There’s nothing wrong with being cute and furry in PlayStation Home but after a strange message appeared on the virtual PSP menu June 18, 2009, informing users of a strange virus breaking out, turning everyone into strange creatures.

There are also more personal spaces available including a Club House and Ghostbusters Firehouse space with free items, a Hamster Dance Marathon, new games, updates to EA’s Sports Complex and we visit the end of Xi: The Hub.

Gamertell Review: Ghostbusters the Video Game

After waiting 10 long years, the Ghostbusters have returned to us in the form of Ghostbusters the Video Game. Sure, there have been other Ghostbusters games, such as the awesome The Real Ghostbusters game for NES, but this is one we have been waiting for. It includes the original Ghostbusters: Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. Annie Potts reprieves her role as the slightly annoying Janine too. They even bring back the prude Walter Peck and Mayor Mulligan with the original voice actors.

Sony Home Update: The universe is expanding (again), a spy has been discovered in Xi

Click your heals three times and repeat after me… “There’s no place like HOME! There’s no place like HOME!”

More new spaces are opening up including one for Ghostbusters and Buzz!, there’s plenty of garb and goodies for you to slap on your avatar and in your virtual apartment and team leader Thom and a Veilcorps operative have been discovered by volunteers and the AFK hackers in Xi.

Sony Home Update: Preparing for E3, new BUZZ on upcoming world and ghost invasions in the Hub

There’s a lot going on in PlayStation Home this week. A new Home space just opened a new space called the Presentation Podium, a large gorgeous space with a humongous stage near the center area where players can watch E3 2009 without leaving their HOME or channel surf for the right station. Sony will stream coverage of E3 2009 to the Presentation Podium.

Another space coming to Sony Home will be the BUZZ! HQ world where players work together to solve the questions. At the Mall the new item available is the Ghostbuster fan pack and more about Xi…

Games presence increases for New York Comic Con 2009

Could it be happening because the Electronic Entertainment Expo just isn’t the event it used to be? Whatever the case, video game makers are reaching out to other venues to promote their products including the New York Comic Con where the presence of video games will increase by 50 percent from last year (2008). Game-related exhibits are going to eat up 11,000 square feet of space at the event February 6-8, 2009.

Comic Con organizers announced the growth in game industry space is the biggest of…

Ghostbusters game to launch next June

I think you know “who you gonna call” on June 16th, 2009. Yes, that lame joke was my attempt at celebrating the official launch date of the very hot looking Ghostbusters: The Video Game, which is coming to almost everything (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, DS, Wii, PC) on June 16th (and the 19th worldwide). The game will be simultaneously launched with a 25th anniversary edition Blu-ray version of the original film, which stands as one of the best (and most bizarre) of wacky 1980s comedies.

Ghostbusters game coming June 2009

Afraid there was gonna be no one to call when ghosts were eventually going to haunt your video game console? Well fear no more gentle citizen, for Atari has officially announced that the upcoming Ghostbusters: The Video Game will be warming up the proton packs for June 2009.

After the Activision-Blizzard merger, Atari bought up the license to the Ghostbusters: The Video Game which, at the time, had fans drooling at the mouth with how good it looked. Then we were severely disappointed when Vivendi, now owned by Activision, announced it would not be carrying the title into the merger…
