It’s holiday shopping season, and according to the Christmas trees I started seeing before Halloween, must have been for some time. Yes, the Xbox One just dropped, but Microsoft has no plans to abandon the Xbox 360 just yet. Some of the best games come late in a console’s life. The Xbox 360 had some more »
There are more games clamoring for attention on Black Friday than there are grains of sand in the Prince of Persia’s dagger. Whether buying for yourself or a loved one, the goal is to achieve maximum happiness while spending minimum cash in the process. With that in mind, here are my picks for the best gameplay value at the best prices on the biggest shopping day of the year.
The first guide I wrote did so well that I decided another one was in order, so here we are: part 2 of the worst gift ideas for hardcore gamers.
There was some confusion before so I feel I need to explain what a hardcore gamer is. A hardcore gamer (HCG) is a gamer that is OBSESSED with video games, not just playing them, but completing them in their entirety. This means getting all the endings, getting every single item in the game and all the achievements available. The HCG will skip work, school, dating, whatever just to complete a game. Also, a HCG has most likely forgotten to shower once or twice. HCGs can be male or female and despite all the above mentioned, female HCGs are considered hotter then males (sorry guys).
Let’s face it, some people are real hard to shop for. Or it’s just that certain people (like me) want gifts that cost way more than you can afford. Toys R’ Us has not advertised this Black Friday deal, but several sources have confirmed it’s for real. You can get several new releases for $5 if you purchase one of the other titles on the list at full price. There’s great titles on there including Halo:Reach. There’s also a Cabela hunting game, but I am not here to judge anyone’s gaming tastes. The sale is from Thursday night at 10 p.m. – 1 p.m. Black Friday (November 26, 2010)
Semi-regional Disc Replay stores are getting in on the sweet Black Friday sale action.
Disc Replay sells and buys used copies of DVDs, CDs and video games of all kinds. There are stores all over Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan.
If you visit any location from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., you can buy two items and get the third free. That includes nearly everything in the store including mix-and-match movies, music, box sets, games and accessories.
As you know the holidays are coming up (if you forgot go step into any Macy’s in the country), and gamers need cool toys and gadgets to play with!
Here is a list of some of the cooler items you can get for you gamer or just nerdy friend (don’t worry, nerds are considered cool now).
Ok, so, here’s the unhappy truth. The economy is in the toilet, lots of folks are tightening their proverbial belts, and gamers can be a pretty expensive bunch to buy gifts for. But here’s the good news – with a little resourcefulness, you can make your gamer (or yourself) a very happy camper without blowing the holiday budget. In our handy guide to gifting gamers on the cheap, we’ve compiled some of the best under-$30 goodies for players.
Space Invaders Extreme (DS or PSP, $20 or less) – this little retro fantastic gem was budget priced at $20 the day it came out, so finding this one for even cheaper shouldn’t be a problem.
