This is Deimos in God of War III

Earlier this month, Sony revealed that we’ll be able to play as Kratos’ brother Deimos in God of War III. There is a catch. Deimos will only be available through a download code on specially marked boxes of God of War: Ghost of Sparta. PSPgo owners can also get a code if the game is downloaded between November 2-9, 2010. When you do, you can play through God of War III again with Deimos as the main character.

April 2010 NPD sales down 26% from last year

It has been a very disappointing month for videogame sales overall. Analysts are reporting game sales have fallen 26% compared to this time last year. The decline is attributed to the timing of Easter in 2010 and a decrease in handheld console sales. When compared to handheld sales in April 2009, handheld sales make up 61% of the overall revenue decline last month.

God of War III pre-orders come with autographed poster

Gamestop announced it will be handing out a 17×24 poster autographed by GoW III‘s concept artist Andy Park. This poster to limited customers who pre-order GoW III in the store. If you pre-order online you won’t be eligible to receive the poster. Pre-orders will also include the Phantom of Chaos character skin.

That’s right, frozen beverage enthusiasts. An exclusive slurpee flavor (Kratos Fury) with even more exclusive God of War themed cups will soon be kicking ass at a 7/11 near you. Mountain Dew, Sony and 7/11 are all in the plot to make your gaming time more delicious. Or perhaps just sugary.

Screens: Kratos goes back to Hades

A few new screenshots of God of War III were released today (January 25, 2010). They show Kratos doing what he does best – killing Gods. Kratos is responsible for Killing Ares and Athena and now he’s set his sights on Hades.

CES 2010 Hands On: God of War III

Kratos is one of, if not the greatest, characters created in recent video game memory. What Nintendo’s Mario is to platform gaming, Kratos is to the mature-rated game. Grand Theft Auto has always drawn the majority of heat in terms of video game sex and violence, but God of War pushed the envelope as much if not more.

E3 2009: Best of the PS3
