Mortal Kombat developers wanted to do an Xbox 360 exclusive character too

Mortal Kombat players on PS3 get the God of War himself, Kratos, as a playable character. Xbox 360 owners get no exclusive character love. Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon told Eurogamer the development team wanted to do an Xbox exclusive character as well. Boon couldn’t get into specific details.

[Update] Amazon lightning deals has Heavy Rain, GoW: Ghost of Sparta and MySims Agents 50% off

For the next hour or so, Amazon has three lightning deals in place on three games. In case you’re not familiar with this, lightning deals are timed sales on Amazon that discount products by large amounts, In this case, three games (Heavy Rain, God of War: Ghost of Sparta and MySims Agents) have been given a 50% discount. There’s a good chance you can pick up Heavy Rain and Ghost of Sparta, but 86% of MySims Agents units have been claimed at the time of this writing.

Kratos is stabbing his way into Mortal Kombat

Kratos is stepping out of the era of mythology and into the netherrealm. The God of War killing machine will be a playable character in the upcoming Mortal Kombat game. Individuals who have access to the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine have been chatting all over the web about this. Apparently Kratos’ antics will be separate from the official Mortal Kombat storyline. He will however have his very own fatalities and his own stage.

November 2 is pretty much God of War day on PSN

The PlayStation Store is going to be chock full of God of War goodness on November 2, 2010. We already knew that God of War: Ghost of Sparta, the latest PSP entry in the series would appear that day, and now it turns out the God of War: Collection will make it’s PSn debut as well. Which means you can probably spend around four or five hours (maybe longer) downloading Kratos’ adventures…

Play as Kratos’ brother in God of War III

Kratos has a lot of excess baggage. He accidentally killed his family, his father is bent on killing him and the intentions of the Titans weren’t what Kratos was expecting. Before all that took place, Kratos had a brother named Deimos. He and Deimos were separated when they were kids and Deimos never got over that. The two brothers will reunite in God of War: Ghost of Sparta. As a bonus, Deimos will be playable in God of War III.

E3 2010: God of War: Ghost of Sparta looks awesome

God of War: Chains of Olympus was one of the best titles released for the PSP. The graphics, story and gameplay remain amongst the best out there for Sony’s handheld. Chains of Olympus captured the escence of the franchise with awesome combat and brutal finishing moves and the controls were spon on.

A while ago, Sony announced a new entry in the God of War (GOW) franchise for the PSP, God of War: Ghost of Sparta. New details about the upcoming game as well as a playable demo and trailer were released recently at E3 2010.

Video Games Live performance to air July 2010 on PBS

Video Games Live, the concert series that features orchestras performing video game scores for a live audience, will be on television for the first time ever. Starting July 31, 2010, and continuing throughout August, PBS will air a 90-minute special that will include performances from a host of famous game franchises.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta headed to PSP in 2010

Do you believe in ghosts? Sony has good reason to as Kratos, the warrior known as the Ghost of Sparta, has become one of the company’s most marketable and well-known characters.

God of War: Ghost of Sparta is the latest installment for the PlayStation Portable and will be available before the end of 2010. Development chores again go to Ready at Dawn Studios, which did a critically-acclaimed job on the previous PSP installment Chains of Olympus.

Get God of War III’s “Brothers of Blood” free from AOL Radio

God of War III may not be out until March 16, 2010, which means there’s still two more weeks of waiting before players can experience the next entry in Kratos’ saga. So while you wait, perhaps stop by AOL to sample music from God of War III. No, the soundtrack isn’t out yet – that’s not available until March 16, 2010, but music from the God of War III Original Soundtrack has been added to the Video Games Score channel at AOL Radio.

The AOL Radio Blog is also offering one free track from the God of War III Original Soundtrack. It’s Cris Velasco’s “Brothers of Blood.” Just right click on it, chose save target as or save link as, and then enjoy listening to the 5.4mb track in your favorite program in your computer…
