Atelier Meruru will fix things up in May

atelier meruru 1

NIS America has really been keeping on top of those Atelier releases! The Arland branch is a trilogy of three PS3 games and the first two entries, Atelier Rorona and Atelier Totori, were releases respectively in September 2010 and September 2011. It seems the company realizes demand is high for the third and final entry, more »

Gust now belongs to Tecmo Koei

There’s news out of Japan today that could potentially be either good or bad for JRPG fans. It turns out Tecmo Koei now owns Gust Corporation. Prior to the acquisition, Gust was a private, independent and rather small developer and publisher of niche Japanese games. They always tended to be pretty, colorful and often quite cute. Now, who knows what will happen.

Gust is primarily known for two series. One is the Atelier series…

The PS3 Atelier trilogy will conclude in 2012 with Atelier Meruru

PS3 owners have another exclusive to look forward to in 2012! It turns out NIS America will not be letting us down and will release the third and final Atelier game in the Arland trilogy. Atelier Meruru: Apprentice of Arland will be appearing in both North America and Europe sometime in the first half of 2012.

Like the previous two Atelier PS3 games, Atelier Meruru stars a brand new alchemist. Meruru is the princess of Arls, a kingdom that may join the Arland Republic…

Important Importables: Gust’s Atelier series

NIS America has just released Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland in North America and, while it has been six years since the first Atelier adventure was released outside of Japan, the series still is a mystery and unknown force to many gamers. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re missing out on a rather unique JRPG and life sim experience. The Atelier line of games focus on creation, rather than destruction, and typically revolve around day to day life and activities instead of some grand, save the world scheme. They’re also quite accessible, so if you find yourself interested after learning more about this line after reading, you’ll have no problem leaping in to Atelier Totori, Atelier Rorona or Atelier Annie

Review: Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland for PS3

As much as I loved Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, it had some serious flaws. Gathering locations were linear, forging weapons and armor was infuriating, it looked like a PS2 game, the battles weren’t well thought out and deadlines seemed to be constantly popping up. Fortunately, Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland fixes all of those issues, offering a longer, more free form alchemy adventure. Granted, the battles are just as difficult, but it offers a much more fun and satisfying experience…

Preview: Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland for PS3

NIS America is on a roll this month! Not only has Disgaea 4, the PS3 strategic RPG, been released, but Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, the direct sequel to the PS3 game Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland is launching at the end of the month. Gamertell got the opportunity to test out Atelier Totori early, and see what’s new and improved in the latest entry in the relaxed RPG and life simulation series that focuses on creation, rather than destruction.

Atelier Totori follows Totooria Helmold during a crucial period in her young life. Everyone calls her Totori though, because it’s cuter and easier…

Atelier Totori starts alchemizing in September 2011

All this news about canceled games is getting depressing! Let’s move on to some happier news. Hey, Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland now has a solid release date! That’s bound to make some PS3 owners happy. NIS America just wanted to let everyone know that people can help Totori start making up some items on September 27, 2011.

Totori is the daughter of a famous Arland Adventurer…

Atelier Rorona returns to train Atelier Totori later this year

Hurray for Atelier Totori! NIS America has finally announced its intentions to bring Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, the sequel to Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, to North America and Europe in 2011. Both versions will be released sometimes this fall for PS3 owners who like turn-based RPGs and adventure games requiring you to craft items.

Ar tonelico Qoga DLC arrives on PSN

Lovers of day one DLC should be pleased to know that NIS America has your back. Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel just came out March 15, 2011 and, what a coincidence! NIS America made sure lots of DLC was ready and waiting for you. When the PlayStation Store updated last night, five Ar tonelico Qoga add-ons were included…

Review: Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel for PS3

NIS America has dedicated itself to bringing the Ar tonelico series to North America back in 2007, when it released the first PS2 entry, Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia. Now, four years later, it is continuing to let Reyvateils out of Japan with Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel, the first Mature rated game in the series. If you’re looking for an interesting RPG experience that successfully manages typical JRPG adventures and visual novel sidequests, then you’re looking at the right game. Just be prepared to see some fanservice and innuendo, and have your finger on the panic button (select) in case someone else walks by during one of the more risque moments.
