Forza 3 DLC helps Haiti

Turn 10 is providing Forza Motorsport 3 owners the unique opportunity to help donate to Haiti and help provide relief after the devastating earthquake while also picking up something nice for themselves. It has released a number of new Forza 3 downloadable content packs on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and if you purchase one of them, the company will donate to Save the Children.

The dlc pack that will prompt Turn 10 to donate is called the “VIP Membership Car Pack” and costs 800 ($10) Microsoft Points. This dlc originally came free with limited edition copies of Forza 3, and is available to purchase for the first time. When you buy this dlc, you’ll get VIP Forza 3 membership, which will make you stand out and appear more prominently when playing online, and the 2007 Ferrari F430 Scuderia, 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, 2007 Porche 911 GT3 RS, 2008 Aston Martin DBS and 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 to drive in the game. Save the Children will then get $10 for each copy of the “VIP Membership Car Pack” purchased, and Turn 10 will donate up to $100,000 for the promotion.

The other three dlc packs that were released all came free with new copies of both the regular and limited editions of Forza 3

Maingear auctioning supercomputer to benefit Haiti relief

MAINGEAR Computers is holding a Relief for Haiti Charity Auction to help Save the Children and support the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The auction prize is a special edition Maingear Shift that features one of the last remaining AMD Phenom II X4 TWKR processors, of which only a few dozen were made. One of those processors went on eBay for charity in a previous auction and pulled in more than $10,000. Just for the CPU.

Now Maingear’s building a whole computer around it with signed hardware and software from industry partners including Microsoft, Valve and Psyko Audio.

Bungie asks fans to “Be a Hero” for Haiti

You can also help out by playing either Halo 3 or Halo 3: ODST on Wednesday (January 20, 2010) or Thursday (January 21, 2010). All you have to do is wear a special emblem while in the game to contribute. For every 1,000 players that wear this symbol Bungie will donate $1,000 to the American Red Cross. Bungie will donate up to $77,000 to help those in need in Haiti.
