Review: Green Lantern movie in 3D

After the disappointment of the Green Hornet movie, I lowered my expectations of the Green Lantern movie. As a long-time Green Lantern comic book fan, I simply wanted to be able to celebrate the fact that the ring slinger finally made it to the big screen. I kept my expectations very, very low so I could not possibly be disappointed.

Silly me.

Nathan Fillion is the voice of the Green Lantern

Although Nathan Fillion (and fanboys) didn’t get his wish to play Nathan Drake in the upcoming live-action film of Uncharted (that role is going to Mark Wahlberg), he’ll still get to fulfill one of his geeky desires, as the voice of the Green Lantern.

This week’s comic is a free issue of Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #1. In this new chapter of the Green Lantern saga, Guy Gardner goes on a secret mission for Atrocitus causing conflict with Green Lantern Hal Jordan and letting his temper create trouble for the Green Lantern Corps.

With the rumors about an upcoming Green Lantern movie that may or may not be delayed yet again, fans of the colorful Corps have to be happy with any on-screen adventure they can get. And this, my fellow poozers, is a pretty decent get.

This animated feature stars Hal Jordan (voiced by Christopher Meloni) and retells an updated version of his super hero origin story as well as Sinestro’s (Victor Garber) final steps to becoming an anti-GL. You’ll see Hal get his ring, a lot of other Green Lanterns from other space sectors, the Guardians of the Universe and Sinestro tossing out streaks of yellow might (along with the Sinestro Corps logo)…
