Video games are often berated for the lack of educational content found in them. They’re often considered a waste of time. But, if you look closely, even games that aren’t slapped with the edutainment label or feature educational material can be teaching valuable skills to the people playing them.

Gamertell Review: Half-Minute Hero for PSP

Half-Minute Hero has rather humble beginnings. It began life as a brief, 1mb freeware game by developer UUE. Marvelous Entertainment saw the potential for a full game there, expanded it and turned it into Yuusha 30. The Hero 30 mode is nearly identical to the original game, and additional Evil Lord 30, Princess 30 and Knight 30 modes have been added in to flesh out the story and make the overall game more substantial. It continues with Evil Lord 30, a real time strategy game where a vile man called Noire has placed a curse on the evil lord’s love Millenia and is placing Noire statues that warp the mind around the country…

E3 2009: XSEED lineup includes plenty of RPG goodness

XSEED is definitely joining ranks with Atlus and Ignition in bringing some of the most unique and desired obscure games to North America. It’s just announced the games it will be bringing to E3 2009, and it’s an impressive list of nine games.

In fact, XSEED seems to be using E3 as a means to announce some greatly expected games. For example, we now know the rumor about the company localizing the PSP version of Lunar is true, and Half-Minute Hero and Fragile are on the way too.

XSEED’s E3 game list is as follow, and it’s showing the Wii and DS lots of love…
