Good news iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners, Sega’s Halloween app sale isn’t the only one out there. Halloween is coming down upon us and Amazon has a sale to go along with it. From now until October 29, Amazon is discounting a bunch of games by as little as 25 percent, or as much as 85 percent. Some of the games cater to the horror mindset that Halloween brings with it, and others are totally random. There are some good deals to be had, and we’re going to point out some of the better games Amazon is offering.

Important Importables: Awesome Japanese candy for trick or treaters

If you don’t get many trick or treaters at your home, sometimes its fun to spoil the ones who do show up. You know, give out little goodie bags, a better kind of candy or even more candy than you normally would. Another alternative for people who don’t get many visitors each Halloween is to pass out candy from Japan. A lot of the products that get imported have individually wrapped candies in a larger bag, which makes them perfect to distribute to visitors. Hence today’s list.

Now, while you might not be able to find the exact candies listed below, there’s a good chance you can find similar ones near you. Asian grocery stores, like the well known Mitsuwa Plaza or even small markets, usually have a candy section with a nice assortment to choose from. Cost Plus World Market is also known for carrying Japanese candy. If local stores let you down, you could always head online to JBOX or even Amazon…

6 good games to play to get into the Halloween spirit

It’s pretty much become a tradition here at Gamertell to offer up suggestions of newly released, Halloween-y games every time October rolls around. You know, for the people who are trapped at home, doling out candy instead of out trick or treating or partying. I mean, it’s not like you can just sit by the door, waiting and hoping for people to come by so you can toss candy at them. You need something to fill the downtime. A new video game with a spooky theme or seriously scary premise can help with that.

So, here are six suitable games to kill some time. Sure, they may not really scare you, but they’ve got the right feel to them. Whether you’re a console, computer or portable gamer, you’ll be covered and find something that will make your month better…

Important Importables: Simple Japanese game character costumes for Halloween

I know, this week Important Importables was going to talk about EasyGameStation, a doujin game maker that’s found fame overseas thanks to Carpe Fulgar deciding to localize two of its games, but Halloween is coming up. Which means people are probably just working out their plans, deciding if they want to go out to a party, or stay in and tend to the trick or treaters.

In either case, costumes are in order and video games can serve as great inspiration for finding one that is iconic, recognizable to other gamers and often very easy to pull together. Since times are tough, here are 10 possible costume ideas that could end up working out really well for you. Most are pretty easy to pull together. You may even already own some of the necessary components. In cases where you don’t, it’d probably cost less than $20 to get everything you’d need together, give or take depending on any liberties you decide to take with the concept….

Dress like Chell with Portal 2 Long Fall Socks

Know what would be a great costume for female gamers this year? Chell. Really, it’s simple, it’s awesome and, if you’re slightly shy about your nerdy side, you could always claim you’re just dressed up as an escaped prisoner. All you need is a white tank top, an orange prison inmate one-piece with the top tied around your waist and. Well, actually, there’s something missing. Not the Portal gun or companion cube, but the Long Fall Boots. I guess it’s time to go to J!NX.

J!NX is an online retailer known for its rather awesome geeky clothes, with a focus on appealing to gamers. One of its latest products is a pair of Portal 2 Long Fall Socks…

You can be an Angry Bird this Halloween

Okay, this has done it. This whole Angry Birds fad has gone too far. Now I’m going to be worrying if I’ll have a flock of birds tossing eggs on my car if my Halloween candy doesn’t meet with Trick or Treaters’ approval.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.

There are Angry Birds Halloween costumes…
