Xbox Live Update for the week of November 13 through 19, 2011
Has it really been a whole decade since Halo:Combat Evolved changed the console gaming world? Its Anniversary edition is now available and it comes with six classic multiplayer maps and a seventh map for co-op firefight. They come free with a purchase of Anniversary, otherwise it’s a 1200 Microsoft Point purchase. The maps are also playable in the series prequel Halo: Reach. I need a weapon.
New York Comic Con 2011: Halo Anniversary demo
As you’d expect Microsoft was at New York Comic Con showing off it’s latest games, with Halo Anniversary being one of the main demos. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to try out the updated single player experience but I was able to play a game of multiplayer on a classic map.
Five things Halo 4 needs to be best in franchise
I love Halo. The games, books and music all lead to a ridiculously epic experience. Whether you love it or hate it, you can’t argue with the fact that whenever Bungie brought something to the table, they went big rather than going home.

Halo Fest is happening at PAX Prime 2011
Microsoft fanboys and fangirls have even more incentive to head to PAX Prime 2011 this year. It turns out a very special Halo event is planned. Appropriately enough, it’s going to be called Halo Fest. That says it all, doesn’t it. The thing is, we don’t know exactly what’s going to happen during the Halo Fest event.
It’s the 10 year anniversary of Halo, since the original Xbox game came out back on November 15, 2001, so I’m sure Microsoft will have something special planned for everyone who turns out…
Next Halo Reach map pack is Defiant
Halo: Reach will be getting an update next month. The Defiant Map Pack will be released, helping to make the multiplayer mode more attractive. If you decide to pick up this pack, you’ll be getting three new areas where you can explore or simply attack anything that moves and isn’t on your side. I guess you could still attack the people if they are on your side too, but that’d be kind of mean…
Review: Halo Cryptum by Greg Bear
Halo: Cryptum is the first book in a proposed trilogy that introduces the Forerunners at the height of their power. What starts off as a treasure hunt becomes a race to save the Forerunners from not only something they locked away once before but also from themselves.

Fight Like A Girl in Halo: Reach, help raise breast cancer awareness
There are few things in gaming better than racking up a killing spree in Halo: Reach. One way to make that even better is to rack up head shots while fighting breast cancer.
Kari Toyama and Tasha Pettengill created a way to do that in 2006 with the Fight Like a Girl (FLAG) Halo Tournament. The pair has run the event ever since. The October 23-24, 2010, weekend event will bring gamers from all over the world together to raise money for breast cancer research. One hundred percent of the cash raised goes to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Cervical Cancer Coalition.
10 fun Halo: Reach facts
It has been nearly a week since Halo: Reach came into our lives. It has made over $200 million and broke the record for most concurrent users on Xbox Live. Most of our Xbox Live friends list was most likely littered with Halo: Reach activity. Bungie says over 700,000 players participated in Halo: Reach on day one. Those are just a few facts stemming from Bungie’s swan song. There are still 10 more that are equally, if not more impressive.
