Review: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Metal Gear Solid has been a fan favorite for since the early 90’s. Everyone and their grandfather knows who “Snake” is and his trusty partners “Raven” and “Big Boss.” Well now the classic series is out again in a nice little bundle to be played in beautiful HD.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker are all together on the two disk set along with the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid NES games.

Opinion: VUDU works great on PS3, but price is a problem
VUDU is a streaming video service that lets you rent and buy movies on the PS3. It was released yesterday (November 23, 2010) on the PlayStation Network. We did a video tour of the service and learned that it works just as well as Hulu Plus or Netflix. Using the $5.99 credit VUDU gave me for signing up, I rented The Expendables in HD. These are my impressions of VUDU from a technical and monetary perspective.
[Video] Watch me rent a movie using VUDU on PS3
The PS3 has another video service that fits right in with Hulu Plus, Netflix and the PSN video store. VUDU was released today on the PlayStation Store. It is a free download that doesn’t require a subscription. VUDU is a HD movie streaming service that lets you either rent or purchase movies. Unlike Netflix, VUDU has brand new movies available just as they’re released on DVD.
Gamertell Review: Sceptre 27 in. HD LCD monitor
I have been spoiled. For over a year I have been using a perfectly respectable, affordable 19-in. HD widescreen monitor on my desk (an Acer, if you must know). After using Sceptre’s 27-inch HD LCD monitor for less than a week, I feel like I’m going way back to a Mac SE screen when I plug in my old 19-inch monitor.
Microsoft executive says,” Who needs Blu-ray?”
Years ago, Microsoft and Sony were in fierce competition over the future of disc-based media. Sony had its Blu-ray technology and Microsoft stood firm with HD DVD. This was a battle that Microsoft eventually lost. Ever since then there has been chatter regarding whether or not the Xbox 360 would adapt Blu-ray technology to extend its life cycle. Microsoft is still remaining flat out negative on those chances.
TGS 2010: Ico and Shadow of the Colossus will get PS3 HD remakes
The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus PS3 remakes are real. They’re being announced at the 2010 Tokyo Game Show and Famitsu even has some preliminary information and screenshots. Which means all three Team Ico games will be available in HD. The remake news isn’t surprising though, as Team Ico’s Fumito Ueda said at TGS 09 that he wanted to see it happen…
The Sly Collection is dated and priced
The Sly Collection comprises all three games in the series – Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. Each game will be re-made in glorious HD. Sony wasn’t clear whether the games will output in 720 or 1080 resolution. But that’s not all my friends. Sony has an extra bonus in store for the collection
Want Ratchet and Clank HD? Don’t hold your breath
HD remakes of PS2 games are all the rage these days. We’ve had God of War, Sly Cooper and now The Team Ico Collection is rumored to be happening next year. One of PlayStation’s best known mascots over the last several years has been Ratchet and Clank. It would be an obvious choice to throw this series into the remake arena. But that probably won’t happen because Insomniac doesn’t want to remake the game.
