PSN experiences growth following hack

The PlayStation Network hack was arguably the worst thing to ever happen to Sony and the PlayStation brand. It’s safe to assume the security breach, at least for a period of time, encouraged copycats to break into other databases related to videogames. Sony’s setback at the hands of hackers may have cost the company millions of dollars, but the network is growing again.

Howard Stringer believes PS3 is “out of the woods”

Sony CEO Howard Stringer is never short on words or confidence. He flaunted that same confidence during a recent interview with Reuters at the World Economic Forum. Stringer seems to be happy with the way the PS3 is shaping up, although he’s a bit worried about the volatility of the yen which affects the company’s exports.

He told Reuters that Sony’s consumer electronics business was performing well despite the U.S economy slowing down, and that PS3 sales were improving. The man at the helm of the consumer electronics giant believes that the “PS3 is out of the woods.” He mentioned the gains the PS3 had made during the Christmas period as it outsold the Xbox 360 during the holidays – the first hurdle.

PS3 infinetly more fun than Wii for “Pull My Finger” Stringer

There are not too many people in the world with the gumption of belittling Wii’s fun element or identifying something else, related to video games, as being more fun than the Wii. But Sony’s Chairman Sir Howard Stringer is among the few people who have the audacity of doing such a thing and, in fact, more »

Rumor: Possible PS3 price drop

In a recent interview with Sony President Ryoji Chubachi, he suggested that the PS3 price might be a bit too high.

According to the Japanese paper, Yomiuri Shimbun (aka The Daily Yomiuri), Chubachi said, “Sony does not rule out the possibility of lowering the price [of the PS3].”

That does not indicate that the PS3 price will, indeed, be dropped any time soon. It simple means, as stated, that Sony might possibly lower the price. What has been dropped is the price of …
