CES 2012: Hands-on with Warrior’s Lair for Vita
I didn’t know anything about Warrior’s Lair before I sat down to play it at CES 2012. A Sony representative told me it used to be called Ruin. The demo station which contained Warrior’s Lair wasn’t necessarily meant to sell us on the game itself. Sony was really promoting the multiplatform gaming capabilities Warrior’s Lair possesses.

Yesterday, OnLive released a full Android app that allows its users to play several games on their smartphone or tablet. I’m fortunate enough to own one of the devices that is compatible with the app, and spent a decent amount of time testing it out. At about 18Mbps down and 4.15Mbps up, I believe my experience is what a lot of OnLive users can relate to. So does OnLive’s mobile offering work as well as the desktop client? You’re about to find out.
Fourth time’s a charm: Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One beta impressions
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One is one of those games that acts as a palate cleanser. It’s refreshing to play a game that focuses on team work in a cartoonish and comical environment after spending so much time with the more violent games the industry is throwing our way. All 4 One is currently in beta and can be accessed by redeeming one of the many codes Insomniac is giving away. I’ve been playing the game for a couple days and like what I see so far.
Undead Overrun impressions
Hello my name is Jeremy and I have the fever. Zombie fever. Corny opening sentences aside, I want to tell you about Undead Overrun. Undead Overrun is a multiplayer mode included in Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare DLC. Undead Overrun, and other similar game play types, have been commonly referred to as Horde Mode. Horde Mode was made popular by Gears of War 2. The basic format involves a group of players fighting never-ending waves of enemies until they are killed. Take that concept, put it in the old West and add zombies. Those are the ingredients that make up Undead Overrun.
E3 2010: A few final thoughts
It’s all over folks and has been for a few days now. E3 2010 is behind us and we’re still trying to get back into our normal sleeping routines. I’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on all that happened during E3 and give my overall impression of the show.
Red Dead Redemption: Outlaws to the End impressions
Outlaws to the End is a downloadable mission pack for Red Dead Redemption. It was released yesterday (June 22, 2010) on Xbox Live and PSN for free. It contains new challenges and six cooperative missions. An entire posse of four can participate in the missions together. My posse went through the DLC yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed our time with it.
Gamertell’s first encounter with the undead menace in Dead Frontier’s open beta
Jagged Blade Games’ Dead Frontier, a free-to-play, browser-based, zombie apocolypse survival MMO, has just entered the open beta phase. The game is an action RPG set after the zombie menace has overrun the world. Players are tasked with trying to survive and grow stronger, despite the constant zombie attacks and threats. The open beta has just begun, and anyone who wants to play is free to sign up and give it a try. As a horror game fan with a day off, I decided to try spending my morning taking down some zombies.
The character creation process offers many different character options. After you’ve filled out the initial information, chosen a gender and agreed to follow the rules, you are allowed to create a survivor. You can customize the character’s appearance to some degree, changing his/her hair/face, shirt and pants.
