E3 2011: IndieCade’s indie game lineup
It’s E3 2011 time folks and IndieCade has a great lineup they can’t wait to show you (in booth 4052 in North Hall, in case you are attending). This year IndieCade is showcasing 16 new games and two booth games.
IndieCade showcases independent games by many different developers, they are mostly free to play games that you can download (a couple are installations, meaning they can only be played there, in person).
Indie developers feel marginalized by new Xbox dashboard
GamaSutra reports that indie game developers are not happy with their new classification. Indie games no longer appear in the “Games” of the Xbox Live Marketplace. Rather, they appear in the “Specialty” section along with avatar items and the Microsoft Game Room.

E3 2010: Indiecade shows off indie game submissions for upcoming festival
A little off to the side of the West Hall, near the Moby Dick-sized Sony booth, housed the Indiecade booth. Get lost in Lylian’s imagination
Pixelpickle Games is working on a side-scrolling action game called Lylian, which takes players through the imagination of the title character. The incredibly stylish game is still in development, but the initial screen shots are enough to get people interested. Lylian will be Pixelpickle’s first title, and should be finished before the end of 2008.
Lylian is a young girl with some mental issues – and these issues cause her to misinterpret what she sees and hears. Her imagination is incredibly vivid and, in the finished game, players will be able to control how Lylian’s imagination changes her view of the world. The full version of the game will have both a story mode and an optional co-op mode.

It’s a great insight into two progressive minds in independent video-game design.
Grossman begins the presentation by defining episodic gaming and laying out a business plan for economic success in episodic gaming. The basic model apes what we would recognize as…
