OnLive flexes its indie muscle with Orcs Must Die!, Bastion and more

OnLive is showing more love to indie developers. The cloud-gaming company just announced it will add six popular indie games to its service this fall. OnLive also hopes to gain the favor of more indie developers when it hosts an event at IndieCade this weekend.

E3 2011: A video diary

E3 just really can’t be captured in text, and going to Los Angeles just to see the madness with one’s own eyes just isn’t feasible for everyone. Here’s the next best thing, a collection of many of the videos taken by Gamertell staff over the near week of excitement. Watch them all, and it’ll be just like being there. I promise:

E3 2011: A short walk through the IndieCade booth (video)

A quick teaser of some of the indie games on display at IndieCade during E3 2011.

E3 2011: IndieCade’s indie game lineup

It’s E3 2011 time folks and IndieCade has a great lineup they can’t wait to show you (in booth 4052 in North Hall, in case you are attending). This year IndieCade is showcasing 16 new games and two booth games.

IndieCade showcases independent games by many different developers, they are mostly free to play games that you can download (a couple are installations, meaning they can only be played there, in person).

IndieCade reveals event details, ticket information for 2010 festival

The International Festival of Independent Games (IndieCade) has announced details on this year’s festival, which will take place on October 8-10 in Culver City, California. As the name suggests, IndieCade highlights the work of independent and aspiring game developers around the world.

E3 2010: Indiecade shows off indie game submissions for upcoming festival

A little off to the side of the West Hall, near the Moby Dick-sized Sony booth, housed the Indiecade booth. Indiecade is short for the International Festival of Independent Games, a three-day festival that – you guessed it – showcases independent games. At E3, Festival Director Sam Roberts showed Gamertell a handful of games that were submitted to Indiecade…

E3 2009: Don’t forget about IndieCade

In case your attention has been drawn by all of those big companies’ announcements, it’s time to turn to the indie developers on display at E3 2009.

IndieCade is a bit of a conundrum, existing as both a stand-alone independent game festival and as an entity with a booth at E3 2009. In any case, IndieCade promotes independent game development at various international venues. Its purpose, according to a recent press release, is to “encourage, publicize, and cultivate innovation and artistry in interactive media, helping to create a public perception of games as rich, diverse, artistic and culturally significant.”

Opinion: E3 could probably use a little more GameCock

One of the more colorful characters – in more ways than two – at the last two E3s was the raucous bunch of indie developers from GameCock Media.

Unfortunately, the company and its crazy antics were caged when bought by SouthPeak. That might have been a good thing for the company and meant gamers got to hold GameCock’s games in their hands a bit sooner but the loss of GameCock’s presence is noticeably and unfortunately missing from E3 2009.

IndieCade at E3 2008

IndieCade announced it will feature highly innovative works and collections of the independent games development community during this year’s E3 2008 being held at the E3 Media and Business Summit from July 15 through 17, 2008, in Los Angeles, CA (USA).

IndieCade is a gathering event for independent game makers from around the world as a marketplace of ideas and projects. It’s also a meeting place for collaborators and investors to give these industry representatives a glimpse of the creative and raw inspirational talents, much like…
