Video game pioneer Ralph Baer inducted into National Inventors Hall of Fame
Ralph Baer, credited as the creator of the first home video game system, is part of the 2010 class of the Inventors Hall of Fame.
Baer created the machine that Magnavox would release as the Odyssey Home Video Game System. Baer also created games including ping-pong and soccer, not to mention the pattern matching game Simon that would go on to become one of the bestselling toys of the ’70s and ’80s.
Atari 2600 inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame
The National Toy Hall of Fame held a ceremony yesterday morning (November 8, 2007) to induct the Atari 2600 into its list of 38 elite toys.
