Toys R Us’ June 5 – 11, 2011 ad has DS, PS3 and Xbox 360 deals

Toys R Us’ latest ad is out and it has some old favorite promotions with a few new deals. So you’ll probably see at least one console, handheld or game you might be tempted to run out and buy. At least, if you’re interested in the DS, PS3 or Xbox 360 you will.

First, the hardware deals. The DS Lite price is now $99.99, since Nintendo’s trying to clear them out. Toys R Us is going a step further this week and selling any DS Lites it has in stock for $89.99…

inFamous 2 Hero Edition saves the day

We won’t be seeing inFamous 2 in stores until June 7, 2011, but that doesn’t mean we can’t already start dreaming about buying that $59.99 PS3 exclusive. Or, perhaps you may be paying $99.99. It depends really, on whether you can be happy with just a plain, standard edition or if you really want to step things up and go for a deluxe Hero Edition. By Hero Edition, we of course mean it’s just the standard, goodie-ladden collector’s edition…

Kmart’s January 9-15, 2011 ad makes older games more appealing

Kmart’s January 9-15, 2011 ad has a full page filled with video game deals. The only downside is, none of the deals pertain to new releases. Still, there are a number of good games on sale and if you have a gift card from the holidays, you could get some good games you may have missed when they first came out.

First, let’s look at the bigger deals. If you buy a 320gb PS3 for $349.99 and then also buy an extra DualShock 3 controller at the same time, you’ll pay $34.99 for the controller instead of $54.99…

inFamous comics bridge the gap between first two games

Since Christmas is only five days away, we don’t expect the videogame industry to be throwing major announcements our way. Therefore this story about a new comic book series based around inFamous can either be something you’re excited for, or something you could care less about. As a big fan of the first game, I fall into the former category.

GamesCom 2010: Sucker Punch shows off inFamous 2′s new superpowers

Sucker Punch’s Infamous really allowed gamers to let loose and feel like a superpowered being running wild in a big city. Infamous 2 moves to a southern setting in the New Orleans-inspired berg of New Marais, and hero Cole McGrath is getting a whole new slate of powers. Cole’s powers are electricity-based, so he appears to be using electromagnetism to toss cars at foes. Ah, car tossing. It’s Superhero 101, really.

Cole is back to his old self

The picture above is not a screenshot from the original inFamous. It’s actually from inFamous 2. Sucker Punch has scrapped Cole’s hipster look in favor of the original design gamers came to love. As far as we know, Cole still has a different voice actor, but at least he won’t be as unrecognizable as before.

PlayStation Store Update: inFAMOUS on PS3, more sales (June 30 to July 6, 2010)

This week’s downloadable PlayStation 3 game is inFAMOUS and This week’s PlayStation Portable Download is Hot Shots Tennis: Get A Grip . There are also plenty of price updates, a PlayStation Plus sale, new games, avatars and bonus content. Oh yeah, and digital comics galore.

Amazon selling PS3 game and DualShock 3 combo packs for $60

Amazon’s got some listings for some great bundles for PS3 owners that include games and DualShock 3 controllers. They aren’t shipping yet, but on May 12, 2010 they will. And then whoever decides to spend the $59.99 for them will have a little bit of goodness delivered right to his or her door.

Last time Amazon did this, there was one bundle, an Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and DualShock 3 bundle. This time, there are four. Each one comes with a DualShock 3 controller and a copy of InFamous, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet or Resistance 2. The bundle with LittleBigPlanet is the best deal, since you’re getting the Game of the Year edition…

10 more PS3 games become Greatest Hits

PS3 owners who live in North America will soon be able to pick up some phenomenal games at a budget price. Sony announced today on the PlayStation.Blog that it has added 10 games to its Greatest Hits collection. Yup, 10! They’ll all be $29.99 from now on, instead of $49.99 or $59.99. The catch is that they’re all really great games, so you might already own them.

The ten newest Greatest Hits PS3 games are, in alphabetical order…
