OnLive is crossing North American borders
OnLive is expanding its cloud gaming service to areas outside of North America. In the future, gamers will be able to access OnLive in various parts of the world. Since most people cannot and will not take their home consoles on the road, OnLive wants to be your primary gaming platform when you travel. OnLive can work on low powered PC and Mac computers, so it is ideal if you’re traveling light. Eventually OnLive will be coming to iOS and Android devices as well. This is all the more reason to sign up for free.
Xbox Live continues to spread internationally
It’s very easy to take things for granted. A lot of us live in countries where internet is plentiful and online gaming is as common as central air conditioning. There are other places in the world that don’t have those privileges and we shouldn’t forget how fortunate we are. That’s why we felt it was right to welcome and acknowledge nine new countries that will get access to Xbox Live on November 10, 2010.
Comic Con 2008: International Independent Film Festival winners
During Comic Con 2008, many games and comics were featured. And who wouldn’t want to attend a special preview of today’s most talented directors and animators create independent film masterpieces. The Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival consisted of movies that fell into seven categories: action/adventure, animation, comics-oriented, documentary, humor/parody, horror and science fiction/fantasy. Dubai Int’l buys unknown chunk of Sony
Bloomberg News is reporting that Dubai International Capital has purchased an undisclosed yet “substantial” stake in Sony. Apparently it was known early this month (November 2007) that Dubai as looking to invest $500 million in a Japanese company, though it cannot be confirmed that money was all spent on Sony, which is based in Tokyo more »
Game&Game World Championship 2007 has begun
The international game competition Game&Game World Championship (GNGWC) kicked off second season with the preliminary round in Europe earlier this month (August 2007). The international event has gamers from Korea, Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan and the US competing in preliminary rounds in each country and then against each other in the finals on December 1, 2007, in Seoul, Korea.
The six first place winners from each preliminary event (one for each PC game in the competition) will be sent to Korea to compete in the finals while runners-up winners will receive a digital camera, MP3 player or a DVD player.
