Brütal Legend downloadable content free for two weeks via PSN
Just because Rocktober is entering its last days doesn’t mean the metal has to die along with it.
Double Fine isn’t done melting faces online and is about the release a new map pack for Brütal Legend called “The Tears of the Hextadon” via PSN on November 5, 2009. PS3 owners will also be able to download the maps free until November 19, 2009. The Xbox Live DLC will probably come a couple of days earlier but Microsoft has it priced at 400 MS points (or US$5).
Don’t just sit there reading – If you preordered Brütal Legend, you can download the demo today
Good news people! The Brütal Legend demo is now available as a download from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Sadly, only a select group of individuals will have access to it. That group are the preorder-ers. Specifically, the people with the foresight to preorder the game from GameStop.
This doesn’t mean you have to run out right now and preorder Brütal Legend if you want access to the demo. If you have the patience, you can just wait a few weeks. The early demo access is only a preorder incentive, not a preorder exclusive. So as long as you don’t mind waiting for it, the demo will eventually be made available to you.
Brütal Legend is the October 13, 2009 Xbox 360 and PS3 release starring Jack Black and rock legends like Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Halford…
E3 2009: More rockin’ Brutal Legend details
If you like RPGs and heavy metal, Brutal Legend from Double Fine and EA seems like it would be the game for you. A preview trailer and some information was given at E3 for this humorous game that tries to prove that metal is not only gameworthy but is also not a young man’s game anymore.
Probably the youngest person in the cast for the game is Jack Black, actor, musician and goofball extraordinaire. Premise for the game is that a roadie is pretty much sucked into a fantasy realm that is ruled by metal. For some reason, this lush metal world is in danger and it is up to the roadie and a group of metal gods to save this world. So, to quote one of the lines from trailer, “Time for a mosh pit.”
