Oh, movie companies. You take the games we love and make them into movies it’s hard to love. And so, now, you’ve taken the acrobatic platformer Prince of Persia and made it into a big-screen treatment feature.
We want to love it.
Really we do.
But, yet again, you just didn’t make it very easy on us. Click through to find out why…

Opinion: Prince of Persia trailer wasn’t terrible after all
Video game movies usually tend to be well, awful. (Super Mario Bros or Dead or Alive, anyone?)
So it was with much skepticism that I’ve been following news regarding a Prince of Persia: Sands of Time movie.
After having seen the first trailer, I am convinced this film will be worth seeing. One of the first obstacles to a decent movie, game based or otherwise is the budget. With Walt Disney Studios considerable resources behind the production, there are no problems there, putting Jerry Bruckheimer and an all-star cast in place. The quality of the special effects show that no money is no object.

There’s been a bit of controversy about Jake Gyllenhaal playing The Prince of Persia in the upcoming movie, so the above pic from Entertainment Weekly may or may not sway your opinion.
Nonetheless, Walt Disney is banking that the combination of Gyllenhaal, director Jerry Bruckheimer and a waiting audience of franchise fans will make this one of the rare video game films worth watching.
Bruckheimer promises action, romance in Prince of Persia movie

In an interview withLatino Review, Bruckheimer talked about a video game-based movie with a chance of being really good.
Bruckheimer told the film site that, as far as scope, Prince of Persia is “enormous” and will be a big romantic adventure with lots of…
First images of Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince of Persia
You may recall the third part of our Prince of Persia series, where we discussed the up-and-coming movie. Well, it appears pop gossip site JustJared has posted pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince.
It looks like Gyllenhaal is on his way to the first take, as he is more shirtless than Matthew McConaughey on a normal day. It would appear that Jake has gotten into great shape for the role, so this would be a good time to lay off (or on?) the Brokeback Mountain jokes…
