Arkham Asylum Game of the Year edition joins 3D gaming craze, not in North America
Square Enix London Studios has announced a Game of the Year Edition for superhero hit Batman: Arkham Asylum.
This game broke up a long string of mediocre titles for the caped crusader to become not just a well-received comic book game but a legitimate Game of the The Year contender for 2009.
The GOTY edition will come with six extra challenge maps and a play-in-3D option compatible with all standard and high definition TV sets. The game releases March 26, 2010, on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in Europe and other PAL territories. The bad news? It’s not coming to North America.
Batman 20th Anniversary Salute: Ten most popular Batman games released since 1989
Remember 20 years ago? OK, so maybe some of you don’t but that was when Batman starring Michael Keaton was released, helping to Bat-rocket launch the popularity of comic book-based movies. To honor the anniversary, Gamertell is looking back at the many Batman video games released throughout the years.
Here’s a chronological look back at 10 of the most popular (although not necessarily the best) Batman games released since 1989.
Gamertell Review: Lego Batman: Gotham City Games for iPhone, iPod Touch
Put all expectations out of your mind right now that this is anything like the console games. It is not an action, peg gathering multiplayer game.
Instead, this is a collection of several familiar single-player minigames covered in cute Lego slash DC Comics style Bat-skins that range from challenging and fun to simply frustrating.

Dark Knight video game is officially not happening
Sorry, Batman fans.
The game based on the hit movie The Dark Knight isn’t going to happen, according to Kotaku Australia.
The studio charged with the project, Pandemic Brisbane, was caught in the Electronic Arts cost-cutting measures. EA, which had acquired the Batman game rights from Time Warner, was going to…
Midway confirms new Mortal Kombat already in the works
Reviews for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe have been largely positive (apparently the idea of sending Scorpion out there to duel with Superman was a successful one) as sites including from Giant Bomb to IGN have largely praised the franchise’s resurrected offering.
This praise also translated to decent sales, as 1UP reports, the game sold 2 million copies worldwide upon release. While those figures are not expected to set the world on fire, they are enough to consider a follow-up effort…
Lost Planet movie will have Dark Knight-sized budget
Capcom wants to make big moves with its original properties, seeing the Resident Evil film series as a model for how successful its games can become in Hollywood. Capcom Head of Character Content Business, Toshihiro Tokumaru, mentioned that the budget for the Lost Planet movie is between $150-200 million.
That puts it in the neighborhood of Warner Bros. blockbuster The Dark Knight, which cost…

I’ve already given The Dark Knight a glowing review so I’ll skip the equally glowing rehash and concentrate on the extra features included in this worthy three-disc Blu-ray release including BD-Live.

The Dark Knight’s returning to the big screen January 2009
Chances are, if you’re reading this site, you saw The Dark Knight – and that you liked it. If so, you’ll be pleased to know that the film will be returning to theaters – and IMAX – on January 23, 2008. The moody, beautifully crafted film is a serious contender for Oscar recognition – one of the first “superhero” flicks in recent memory (or ever, really) to have a chance at being so honored.
Of course, the Oscar buzz has been flitting around ever since the film came out in July – with Christopher Nolan’s expert direction and the late Heath Ledger’s phenomenal performance as the Joker.

Taking a huge hint from the success of the Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones games, Warner Bros. has converted yet another an iconic character book hero into colored pegs to star in a video game…
