E3 2010: JoWooD reveals its games lineup

JoWooD Entertainment is among the many companies that will be making an appearance at E3 2010 this year, and it has just decided to reveal which games it is bringing to the event. There aren’t too many, but there’s still an admirable number of games to look at and oogle. The only thing is, there isn’t much information available yet on one of them.

The Guild 2: Renaissance is one of JoWooD’s E3 2010 lineup games, but there isn’t much information available on it yet. It’s a Windows PC game and follow up to The Guild, a strategy game and a stand-alone expansion. There’s no word yet on when it’ll be released, so we’ll have to wait for E3 for more information.

Here’s a look at the rest of JoWooD’s lineup! Remember – Dreamcatcher Games is part of JoWooD, so don’t be taken aback if you see it as the publisher for one of the following titles…

Yoga and the Hardy Boys heading for the Wii…separately

DreamCatcher Interactive and JoWooD Productions have announced they will be bringing Yoga for Wii and The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft to the Nintendo Wii. Both games are currently under development and are set to be released Fall 2009.

Yoga for Wii will utilize the Wii Balance Board as players are guided through a variety of popular yoga exercises. A “yoga guru” will act as the player’s personal instructor and help monitor progress, making suggestions based on the player’s performance and computations taken from the Balance Board.

The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft comes about as the result of a partnership with Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing to develop a series of interactive games based on the Frank and Joe Hardy characters. Already available for Windows, Hidden Theft puts the young detectives at Spencer Mansion where a vault has been robbed and the police apparently need the help of teenage boys to tie-up some loose ends.

JoWooD to bring Music Monstars to North America

JoWooD has worked out a deal with Tivola to bring the DS music game Music Monstars to North America. DS owners may not have a version of Rock Band, but come September 2008, they’ll be able to play keyboards, drums and guitars and create their own songs.

Music Monstars is going to have multiple play options. There will be a Career Mode, where players will actually be in a band and work to become the best there is. The Composer Mode lets players create their own songs. The Multiplayer mode allows players to play music as a band with friends over local Wi-Fi. A full track list isn’t available, but “Personal Jesus” (Depeche Mode), “I Want to Break Free” (Queen), “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” (Kylie Minogue) and “The Final Countdown” (Europe) will be in the game. Demos from the OneMonstar channel on YouTube show “Dragostea Din Tei” and classic songs also being played.

Dreamcatcher announces Painkiller: Overdose

The latest Painkiller game, Painkiller: Overdose, was announced by DreamCatcher Interactive and JoWooD at E3 2007.

The game will be released for Windows in October 2007 and include 6 new weapons, improved physics, more than 40 monsters and even bigger level bosses. The storyline will be a prequel to the previous Painkiller games (because we can never seem to have enough prequels) and is supposed to tie up all the loose ends (including the repercussions of Daniel defeating Lucifer in the original game).

Other features will include…
