Eidos isn’t done with Kane and Lynch
Kane and Lynch are two characters that can’t catch a break. Their first game wasn’t received especially well, but that didn’t stop Eidos and IO Interactive from releasing Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days in August of this year. To its credit, Dog Days had a very unique shaky cam visual style that was an attention getter. That didn’t help Dog Days from getting mediocre review scores, but Eidos isn’t giving up on the duo yet.
Kane and Lynch movie hits another roadblock
The film adaptation to Kane and Lynch can’t seem to catch a break. Besides the questionable pairing of Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx, the film can’t seem to keep a director on board.
Square Enix declares Kane and Lynch 2 will take top spot in UK
Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days makes its debut in Europe today (August 20, 2010). The game has received a lukewarm reception in the United States where critics have expressed disappointment in its short length and repetitive multiplayer. That still doesn’t stop Square Enix from believing Kane and Lynch 2 will be the best selling game in the UK.
Kane and Lynch 2 getting post-launch DLC
The downloadable content will add new weapons, masks and locations. Their names are Multiplayer Mask Pack, Alliance Weapon Pack and Doggie Bag Pack. You may remember the Alliance Weapon Pack as an exclusive download if you purchase Kane and Lynch 2 from Best Buy. It contains three new weapons and eight masks.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days an early arrival
Square Enix has a little surprise for gamers – Kane and Lynch just can’t be contained. See, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days was supposed to be released in North America on August 24, 2010. That isn’t going to happen. Instead, the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 game will be in stores on August 17, 2010.
This expedited release isn’t just for Americans though. Europe will also be seeing the game a week early. Instead of being out August 27, 2010, Kane & Lynch 2 will be out…
Kane and Lynch 2 demo available now on Xbox Live
If you’ve been eager to kick the tires on Kane and Lynch 2:Dog Days, your opportunity is at hand as the demo is now available over Xbox Live. Gamers in North America and the United Kingdom will get their first taste of these two hardworking assassins’ homicidal tendencies.
A code is required to access the demo but never fear. There are a number of ways to get one including a visit to the official Kane and Lynch site.

Kane and Lynch: Dead Men may be getting a sequel
Joystiq reports that Eidos has registered a trademark for Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days.
Although Kane and Lynch: Dead Men is destined to be remembered more for the PR fallout than the game itself as it sold well for Eidos. So it’s no surprise that the game is poised to receive a sequel.
Besides which, you know what they say: There’s no such thing as bad publicity. Go ahead, name another digital crime tale that played to average reviews that will get anywhere near the press coverage this sequel is going to (especially one that nobody has tried to use as a defense for committing a real crime).
