Gamertell’s 10 best PSP games released in 2010
While 2010 was a pretty good year for games, it wasn’t a very prosperous year for the PSP. Yes, there were games released for the system, but each year fewer and fewer titles have found their way to North America. Japan, on the other hand, gets a steady stream of UMDs packed with goodness. The best we can do though, unless we import, is make do with what we have.
To celebrate the coming of a new year and passing of an old one, let’s look back at some of the A+, quality PSP games that we did manage to play. Here’s Gamertell’s list of the 10 best PSP games we got to see in 2010…
Gamertell’s PSP 2010 Holiday Gift Guide
With the holidays fast approaching, you need a shopping game plan. After all, looking at all those Black Friday ads won’t help if you don’t know what you want or need to get. So here’s Gamertell’s 2010 PSP gift guide. We point out 10 of the best PSP games and some PSP bundles to add to your shopping list.
Remember, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is not available on the PlayStation Store. So it isn’t a gift option for a PSPgo owner. All of the other games listed in the guide are available both in stores on a UMD or as a download from the PlayStation Store…
Almost all Kingdom Hearts games on sale at Amazon
Amazon’s video game deals of the day today are likely inspired by the recent release of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Almost every Kingdom Hearts game released in North America is on sale at the site for one day only (October 11, 2010), while they’re in stock. The only game excluded is the GBA incarnation of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, but the inclusion of the PS2 port makes up for that…
Gamertell Review: Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for PSP
While many fans of the Kingdom Hearts series have bemoaned the number of spin-offs and begged for Kingdom Hearts III, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is just what they need. It’s a prequel that retains the feel of both Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II, ties all entries in the series together and delivers an all new adventure with fresh characters…
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep will only be released on a UMD
Square Enix has confirmed that the PSP game Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep will be a UMD-only release. You won’t be able to head to the PlayStation Store on launch day and just download a copy. You’ll have to head to an actual store and pick up a $39.99 UMD on September 7, 2010…
Square Enix bringing 7 games to Gamescom 2010
Square Enix is heading to GamesCom 2010 in Cologne, Germany this year, and bringing along seven games to show off. If you kept up with the E3 2010 news, or actually attended, then the games should look familiar. All seven of them were featured at Square Enix’s booth there this year…
E3 2010: Hands-on with Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep has been a long-awaited title for Kingdom Hearts enthusiasts with PSPs and it looks as if they will not be let down. I was able to give the game a go at the Square Enix booth and only have good things to say about it. As someone without a PSP, more »
E3 2010: PSP games to watch out for next week
E3 is huge. There’ll be hundreds of games, tons of news updates and press releases and all kinds of video footage. It’s incredibly easy to get lost or overwhelmed – especially if you’re only looking for information on one particular platform. To help ease your woes, here’s a brief list of PSP games you may want to keep up with through June 15-17, 2010. After all, it’ll be a lot easier to handle all those first-hand reports if you have some idea what you should be looking for. This way you can see some of the most intriguing games that will definitely be appearing at the convention next week and decide whether or not you want to watch them.
As mentioned in the DS list, not all developers and publishers have revealed the games that will be brought to E3. So this post will be updated between now and June 15, 2010, when E3 begins, so you’ll know which PSP games you’ll want to pay special attention to.
Let’s take a look at some of the most promising PSP games…
E3 2010: Square Enix details its game line-up
It’s the big one – the third party developer that almost everyone loves broken its silence. Square Enix has revealed it is bringing 12 games to E3 2010. 12! Can you even imagine it? And the best part is, all 12 sound incredibly promising and cover pretty much every gaming platform you can imagine.
If you’re going to be at E3, Square Enix is stationed in the South Hall. It’s got a massive booth (1647) between MTV Games and Tecmo Koei, and right behind Microsoft. It’s a good thing too, because it’s going to need every bit of space it can get. If not, then stop by Square Enix’s E3 2010 webpage to get a hint at what’s coming!
So let’s stop talking and start looking at Square Enix’s E3 2010 offerings…
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep gets a PSP bundle, release date
Good news for Kingdom Hearts fans and PSP owners, Square Enix has made some major announcements about Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep! First, and most importantly, the game will be released on September 7, 2010 in the US. It’ll have a fantastic voice cast, featuring Jesse McCartney (as Ventus, naturally), Leonard Nimoy, Mark Hamill, James Woods and Willa Holland. I hope Leonard Nimoy is Master Xehanort!
There is also going to be a GameStop exclusive PSP bundle. A price hasn’t been set for it yet, but it wil come with a silver PSP-3000, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, a 4gb memory stick and some movie. Neither the PlayStation.Blog or Square Enix’s press release mention a title for the movie or a price yet. I’ll guess it’ll be $199.99, like all PSP bundles. Also, there’s no word on whether or not the PSP will have any kind of custom, Kingdom Hearts embellishments.
Let’s watch the trailer that appeared on the PlayStation.Blog…
