Toys R Us sale going on November 20-21, 2009
Just checked my mailbox and lo and behold, there’s a new Toys R Us sales flier. The latest sale runs from Friday, November 20, 2009 until Saturday, November 21, 2009. It looks like Toys R Us is really trying to get people in the buying mood before Black Friday 2009!
First, there’s going to be a doorbuster sale from 3pm Friday until 1pm Saturday. Unfortunately, there’s only one video game doorbuster deal. And its most likely not the kind of video game you’re all interested in. Four Leapfrog Leapster games, Sonic X, Math Missions, I Spy Challenger and The Incredibles, will be $12.49 each.
There are quite a few general game deals though, that will be going on during the whole weekend sale. First, all video game strategy guides will be 50% off the normal price and all clothing and video game accessories with Mario on it will be 25% off the normal price. There are also quite a few DS and Wii video games on sale.
Here’s what you’ll be able to find on sale this weekend at Toys R Us…
Gamertell Review: LeapFrog’s Leapster2 handheld game system for kids
Product: Leapster2Price: $69.99 (games MSRP $19.99 each)Rating: One thumb up, on thumb sideways; 85/100; B; * * * 1/2Pros: Rugged construction, easy to use, PC (Windows and Mac) connectivity and backwards compatibility.Cons: Some lag and touchscreen issues during motion graphics, stylus cord a bit short and system a bit fat.Overall: A great buy for parents who want to make sure their kids are playing educational games on a system that will stand up to the occasional (even if accidental) beating.
One way to help satiate your kid’s electronics curiosities is to give them their own, kid-friendly handheld game system. A Nintendo DS is a nice choice but, face it, it’s a little too expensive and not sturdy enough to just give a 3-year-old to play with (well, maybe it’s OK for some kids). And those little brightly colored toys with buttons that make noises are too simplistic.
That’s where the Leapster2 game system comes in…
Leapfrog to release web-enabled Leapster2 and new Didj handheld
Much like cartoons, most gadgets and videogames are really not meant for kids. Let your toddler play Grand Theft Auto for a while or mess with your iPod and you’ll probably not be too happy with the results.
As a safer and more education alternative, LeapFrog Enterprises has been selling the Leaspter educational gaming system for about four years in retail stores across the US. This Summer (2008), LeapFrog will update the Leapster with web connectivity and also release a new handheld, web-enabled system called Didj…
