E3 2011: Ten early expo predictions

Think you know what’s going to happen at this year’s E3? Well, so do we. Now let’s see whether or not we agree…

Odd top ten co-op game list draws criticism

Gameranx recently released its Top 10 list for best co-op games, to mostly jeers in the comments.

As it happens, I’ve played many of these titles and I tend to agree with the comments and not so much with the list…

Get both Left 4 Dead games for $10.19

You won’t find a better videogame deal today. Left 4 Dead was just updated with The Sacrifice DLC. To commemorate the loss of one of the original survivors, Valve has placed Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 on sale until 4pm tomorrow (October 7, 2010) through Steam.

Left 4 Dead 2 comes to Mac tomorrow

Mac owners have been left out in the cold for too long. While everyone gets to kill countless zombies and partake in extra content, you’ve been left holding you mouse. Your wait is almost over. Starting tomorrow (October 5, 2010) Left 4 Dead 2 will be available on Macs.

Choose who dies in new Left 4 Dead expansion

Valve will soon release The Sacrifice, a new expansion compatible with both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. It fills in the storyline gaps between the games that lead to The Passing, the expansion in which the two game casts meet each other. It will also allow players to choose which of the original game’s survivors doesn’t get to be called a “survivor” anymore.

Valve is promoting community-made Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns

Valve is a glowing example of the success a game can achieve through developer/community interaction. In the past, Valve produced mutated game types every week for Left 4 Dead 2 to give players something new to experience. The community also had the ability to create their own unique maps and campaigns if they possessed the expertise. Valve is taking some of those community created campaigns and presenting them to the rest of the community in a big way.

Left 4 Dead on PS3? Valve continues to tease

Valve has had a bumpy history with the PS3. The company has gone on record several times saying how complicated the PS3′s architecture is and how it has no interest developing for the console. These harsh words were put to rest this year at E3 when Valve announced Portal 2 is coming to the PS3. Valve even went so far to say the PS3 version will be superior to all other platforms. It’s good to see Valve spreading it’s games across more consoles besides the PC and Xbox 360, but what about its past games?

Valve releases plush Left 4 Dead Boomer zombie

If you love Left 4 Dead, or really zombies of any kind, and have a spare $50 lying around, then you need to head to The Valve Store. Seriously, I’m not kidding. See, Valve is now selling Boomer, the first of five “Infected” stuffed toys based on monsters from the Windows and Xbox 360 game Left 4 Dead 2.

Boomer, like all of the five Left 4 Dead plushies comes with quite a pedigree. Alexandria Neonakis, designer of Valve’s Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 greeting cards, created the designs for all of the stuffed toys. So you’re getting a stylish and unique little individual if you buy him. Okay, he’s not so little – he’s actually a pretty big boy at 13 inches tall and almost 13 inches wide…

Valve says it will develop PS3 games, eventually

Valve’s Chet Faliszek was asked whether any of Valve’s franchises will ever come to the PS3. His response suggested Valve hasn’t started developing yet, but will in the future.

Left 4 Dead 2 boycott ends after co-founder meets Valve

All is happy and good in the land of Left 4 Dead 2 fans.

Well, OK, not exactly but the co-founders of a group boycotting the upcoming game are now satisfied with Valve’s efforts to support the original L4D.

Today (October 14, 2009) the boycott leaders announced the closing of the group and, at least in their eyes, an end to the boycott. Valve flew group co-founder known as Agent of Chaos to its studio for a free tour and to assure him that the first game in the successful zombie shooter series would keep getting support.
