Try the Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 Mac demo today

So you’re a closet Harry Potter fan and Mac owner, and you keep coming back to Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4, now that Feral Interactive has released a Mac version. You add it to your cart, then quickly back out and leave, over and over again. Well, it may be a little easier to take the plunge and just buy the game, now that you can actually try it before you buy it. Feral Interactive put the demo on its site today (February 9, 2011), so head over there now and give in to temptation…

Gamertell Review: Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 for PS3

Entries in the Lego video game series are always a delight, and Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is no exception. In fact, it may just be one of the most anticipated and well received entries in the series. It’s no wonder, as it manages to capture the magic of the source material by perfectly recreating the Harry Potter world and delivering whimsical and collectible-filled gameplay…

Get Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 free when you buy Harry Potter Blu-ray gift set

Amazon has an interesting deal if you adore Harry Potter, own a Blu-ray player and have a lot of spare cash on hand. If you buy the Harry Potter Years 1-6 Blu-ray gift set for $94.49, you get a free copy of Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 for any system you’d like. Looks like some fans will be very busy until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I

Toys ‘R Us has Fourth of July video game sales

If you want to do some shopping on July 4, 2010, you may want to stop by your local Toys ‘R Us store. There are a number of video game sales there which start the fourth and end July 10, 2010. You could pick up one of the five sale Wii games, get a custom DS bundle or get a custom Wii bundle.

The two bundles are both Nintendo-oriented, so if you don’t have one of those two systems you can get one for slightly cheaper than you normally would. The first bundle is a DS, DSi or DSi XL bundle. If you buy any DS stand alone console, a universal transporter bag in black or blue and one of six DS games, you will save $30 more than you normally would if you bought everything. So essentially, you get Toy Story 3, Despicable Me, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Iron Man 2, Shrek Forever After or The Last Airbender for free. The second bundle is a Wii bundle, where for $199.99 you get a white or black Wii console, a free wireless sensor bar and either Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs or Nerf N-Strike

Target offers deals on LEGO Harry Potter, Just Dance for Wii

If you purchase a white Wii console for $199 from June 27, you’ll receive Just Dance for free. The Wii bundle includes Wii Sports, Wii Remote and Nunchuk. A couple days later on June 29, 2010, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 comes out on all major consoles. However you must purchase the PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii version to get in on the sale.

Xbox 360 gets LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 demo June 7, 2010

I am so jealous right now. If you own an Xbox 360, then by this time next week you could be sampling LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4! Warner Bros. is going to be releasing demos for Traveller’s Tales LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, and the Xbox 360 one will be available on June 7, 2010. The Xbox 360 is the only platform getting preferential treatment, as PS3 and Windows PC owners are going to have to wait for their demos to magically appear. They’ll supposedly be out sometime in June, probably before the June 29, 2010 release date.

If you own a DS, PSP or Wii, then don’t expect any demos. The Wii never gets downloadable demos for retail games. The DS and PSP do occasionally get demos, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up since Warner Bros. press release doesn’t mention any for either. It’s better to not expect anything and not be disappointed. That way if demos do appear…

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 costs $69.99, includes magnets

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is hoping to rope Harry Potter fans into spending even more money on LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 with collector’s editions of the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 versions of the games. A standard copy of LEGO Harry Potter for any of the systems costs $49.99 when it comes out June 29, 2010. A collector’s edition costs $69.99, $20 more.

So what do you get for that additional $20? Not much. The main draw is a set of magnets. Yes, magnets. It comes four LEGO magnets with the Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw crests on them. It also comes with a DVD you’ll never watch that has featurettes from LEGO Harry Potter and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The Xbox 360 collector’s edition version of LEGO Harry Potter does have a slight edge over the other editions…

E3 2009: Get ready to wait until 2010 for Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4

The Lego game I’ve been waiting and hoping for has finally been officially announced! Warner Brothers Interactive finally revealed that TT Games is working on Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4! The company hasn’t announced what system(s) the game will be released on, but since the previous Lego games tended to appear on practically every system, I think it’s safe to say Lego Harry Potter will have an all inclusive release. The only downside is, we’ll have to wait until 2010 to actually play the game.

It sounds like a very free-form, sandbox style game, based on the initial description. Players can go through the story, attend classes, perform magic and explore locations from the first four Harry Potter books. Of course, like all Lego games, there will also be multiple characters to play as, though only Harry, Ron and Hermoine have been confirmed so far.

Along with the announcement, a brief trailer was also released. It’s really more of a tease than anything, but still fun to watch…
