Japan knows its Vita launch lineup, Europe knows what it’s getting from first-party publishersand North America is still waiting patiently. The PlayStation Vita doesn’t get released around the world outside of Japan until February 22, 2012, so those of us in North America can stand waiting just a little longer. Today, Sony confirmed the first-party games that will launch alongside the Vita. There are a lot of familiar sounding titles on the list as well as some surprises.

Nintendo’s Q2 2011 lineup looks pretty good

If you own a Wii, DS or 3DS, you may want to get out a post-it or open Notepad right now. Nintendo’s just announced it’s Q2 2011 lineup, and there are quite a few good games coming out this summer. Seriously, you will need to start making some plans, especially if you were an early 3DS adopter. Some of the games coming out in the next few months will make that risk worthwhile. Plus, you’ll have an alternative to Wii Play if you decide to get a Wii and want a Wii Remote Plus and game bundle. On the other hand, the DS offerings are a little skimpy…

The roster for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 was recently revealed to the world. Believe me when I say this list of WWE superstars is huge. Chances are if you’ve seen a superstar on either Raw or Smackdown, they’re in this game. THQ is also going to have downloadable content for SvR 2011 in time for the holiday season. New superstars such as members of The Nexus will be included as well as legends such as The British Bulldog and Lex Luger.

E3 2010: Majesco Entertainment’s lineup

Majesco Entertainment will be at E3 this year and it’s bringing six games to show off. All of these games are casual titles the family can enjoy together. I hope you’re ready for more “Mama” based games because there’s a couple new ones on tap for the Wii and DS.

Bethesda’s E3:2010 lineup

Interestingly enough, Hunted: The Demon’s Forge is the only game that is not played from a first person perspective. It’s also the game we’ve heard the least about. What we do know is it’s a cooperative game featuring two characters – E’lara and Caddoc. E’lara is a ranged fighter with bows and Caddoc is a brawler. Hunted will feature drop-in, drop-out multiplayer but there won’t be any split-screen function.

E3 2009: What Activision is bringing to the table

Activision is looking to have a major presence at the show as it’s bringing ten games to E3 2009. These games cover many different genres such as racing, adventure, FPS and music. Sony’s Hirai says: “Games industry will be resilient towards economic pain”

Despite these rough economic times, Kaz Hirai, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment, made it clear to the Financial Times that the game industry will withstand and continue to show its strength.

However, he won’t throw gamers an economic bone as he also made clear in that interview that he has no plans to cut the price of the Playstation 3. In other words, it will remain the most expensive of the three consoles once the holiday season arrives…
