Gamescom 2010 Microsoft shows off Kinect, Xbox 360 and PC games

The Kinect will be stealing most of the spotlight at Microsoft’s booth at GamesCom 2010. While there will be Xbox 360, PC and even Windows Phone 7 games on display, Microsoft wants to use the show to promote it’s latest peripheral. You can’t blame the company though – the Kinect launches November 4, 2010 in North America and November 10, 2010 in Europe and will cost $149.99 and €149.99 ($193). Microsoft has to convince people to buy it…

E3 2009: Digesting the Microsoft E3 2009 keynote

Never before have I ever been as excited about announcements from a keynote as I am right now from the Microsoft keynote that took place yesterday (June 1, 2009) afternoon.

While I should be reserving judgment, what can Sony or Nintendo really bring to the table that would trump Microsoft at this point? Microsoft has made it clear that the Xbox 360 is fast becoming the all around home entertainment experience that Sony wanted (or wants) the PlayStation 3 to be and Nintendo, who knows what Nintendo wants at this point? They already have the best selling console and handheld so I’m sure they will be kicking it easy…

Fable 2 patch goes live

It’s been a long time coming but Lionhead has released the patch that will fix a number of glitches in Fable 2.

No more do you have to worry about messing up on the Monk’s Quest and being forced to start the whole game over again. Even if you stopped playing when the Abbot glitch kicked in, the patch will alleviate his unresponsiveness and allow you to continue as if nothing was wrong. This was probably the biggest complaint about Fable 2 by far.

A number of other smaller yet still annoying glitches have been fixed as well…

Fable II’s first downloadable content coming December 2008

Remember that Lionhead announcement that we told you about two weeks ago? Well, Lionhead has finally been able to announce their “big news”. Fable II will be getting a good chunk of downloadable content that will arrive sometime by “mid-December”. Mid-December? This was a little disappointing to hear, since I was hoping for something sooner. I guess beggars can’t be choosers.

Actually, wait a minute, that statement might not apply here, as Lionhead is actually going to allow beggars to become choosers.

Two kinds of DLC will be coming in December, one free and one paid. According to 1UP, the free content pack will include “Knight’s Boots, Assassin’s Gloves, a special Weight Loss Potion, collectible silver book, and more”. Not bad for the beggars.

There will also be the Knothole Island premium pack for 800 Microsoft points ($10)…

Lionhead teases Fable 2 announcement

Did you finish Fable 2 yet? Did you manage to sneak your way passed the game’s life ruining bugs and glitches? I managed to finish it twice with only one character stuck in infinite turmoil thanks to the “Abbot glitch”. But if you did manage to finish it, then a recent tease on the Lionhead blog should tickle your curiosity as it has ours…

Fable 2 patches coming soon, missing Limited Edition codes in the mail

Kotaku got in touch with Lionhead Community Manager, Sam Van Tilburgh, to see how things were coming along in regards to both a patch that is supposed to fix the “Abbot Glitch,” a few other bugs and those missing Limited Edition game codes.

The “Abbot glitch” is a bug in the game where if a player decides to walk away from the chatty man, the Abbot will lock up, not saying anything and therefore freezing the quest into place. Players will not be able to finish the quest or the…

Molyneux says PC game market in “tatters”, PCGA disagrees

As the key person responsible for a slew of classic PC games including Black & White and Dungeon Keeper, Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has a unique insight into the PC game market that few others can match. With his recent focus on the highly anticipated Xbox 360 exclusive Fable II Molyneux told VideoGamer that he believes the PC game market is “in tatters,” pointing towards a…
