Star Wars movies returning to theaters in 3D beginning 2012

The companies will release the 3D films according to the story’s chronology, so the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace will be shown in theaters first (in 2012) even though it was the fourth film released. It’s not clear whether the original versions of the films or the revamped “Special” versions will get the 3D treatment. Some reports indicate one film will be released each year following Phantom Menace.
