Rumor: New Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC leaked by GameStop ad

I hope all you Call of Duty players are prepared for another map pack, because it looks like Treyarch and Activision have another one planned. As it was with the previous Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC pack, Escalation, it seems the next pack may have been leaked as well. This leak wasn’t as good though, as it only managed to reveal the five maps that will be included in the new add-on. The leaked image’s picture quality is horrible, but it looks authentic. You should probably remain cautiously optimistic.

Digital Warfare 24/7 first came across this GameStop ad…

Homefront Xbox 360 update now available, DLC coming soon

Homefront was released to an audience who were quite upset about the amount of bugs the game shipped with. One of the most severe issues was freezing on both the Xbox 360 and PS3. Difficulties with connecting to multiplayer matches was also a widely reported problem. Today, THQ released a update for the Xbox 360 version of Homefront. It also announced the first map pack for the game called Fire Sale.

Bulletstorm Gun Sonata sounds pretty sweet

With Bulletstorm just making its debut today, I’m sure DLC is the last thing on your mind. But, this is an EA game so you know that add-on information was guaranteed to come up quickly. The company just wants you to be aware that a Gun Sonata map pack is going to be coming soon to a console or computer near you. How soon is a mystery, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s available before March ends…

Brace your PS3s for Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC

PS3 owners once again miss out on preferential treatment with Call of Duty: Black Ops. Not only do they have to endure bugs and glitches, they have to wait longer for their DLC. Granted, the forthcoming First Strike DLC a rather minor add-on that just adds a handful of new maps to the game, but still. It’s the principle of the thing! It’d be nice if everyone could get the first DLC pack at the same time.

First Strike gives Call of Duty: Black Ops players access to five new areas on March 3, 2011…

CoD: Black Ops “First Strike” DLC coming February 1, 2011

We knew an announcement for the first map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops would come sooner rather than later. On February 1, 2011, the map pack entitled First Strike will be arriving on the Xbox 360 for 1200 Microsoft Points. First Strike will be a timed Xbox 360 exclusive, so don’t expect it to come to the PS3 until quite some time after that. It took over a month for the Stimulus Package DLC for Modern Warfare 2 to be released on the PlayStation Network.

MW2 is back with the Resurgence map pack

Resurgence is the name for MW2′s second downloadable map pack. It contains five maps total. Two of the maps, Vacant and Strike, are remade levels from the first MW. The other three are called Carnival, Fuel and Trailer Park. The settings of Trailer Park and Carnival are self explanatory, but Fuel takes place in an oil refinery that’s perfect for sniping.

New Killzone 2 downloadable content debuts July 27, 2009

By now PS3 Killzone 2 players have probably gotten a bit tired of the “Steel & Titanium” and “Flash & Thunder” downloadable content map packs. After all, the first was released April 30, 2009 and the second June 11, 2009. Well, the PlayStation.Blog has just announced that “Napalm & Cordite,” the third add-on, will be released July 23, 2009.

Like the previous Killzone 2 dlc, “Napalm & Cordite” is going to contain two maps to be used in the multiplayer mode. The first is the mining village environment Suljeva Cliffside. The second is situated in Blood Meridian’s defense post area and is called Arctower Landing.

“Napalm & Cordite” also contains a bit of a surprise. The previous add-ons simply contained new maps and trophys. “Napalm & Cordite” also allows players to…

Valve clarifies Xbox Live’s Portal expansion

Reports last month of additional content to paradigm-busting, platitude-eliciting puzzler Portal were heart-stopping revelations for die-hards Valve fans.

But, according to GameSetWatch, Valve’s Doug Lombardi said the new levels for Portal will be culled from the Portal: The Flash Game map pack. While there’s still plenty of reasons for console players to be happy, there are now a few to get riled up about, too…

Call of Duty 4 map pack shatters records

Call of Duty 4 has proven to be the game that just doesn’t stop giving, er, selling. With more than nine million units sold worldwide and being ranked the number one played game on Xbox Live for the past four months, Call of Duty 4 has again broken new ground with its recent release of four all new multiplayer maps.

Since April 4 2008, the 4 new multiplayer maps for Call of Duty have had over 1 million downloads through Xbox Live. The map pack is sold for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), which amounts to a whole lot of cash for the already internationally successful game…
