Blizzard bans StarCraft II map for using the word “ass”
After some probing by the community, we learned the map was banned because the user used the term “Badass” referring to a wave of enemies. The actual campaign in StarCraft IIcontains language that can be seen as more harsh than this, but that’s up for Blizzard to decide. What made Cyrileo especially upset was that Blizzard didn’t inform them a component of the map was inappropriate and did not give him/her the opportunity to change it before taking the map down.

Modern Warfare 2 downloadable content coming late March 2010
Even after losing its top two guys, Infinity Ward is hard at work on its latest and greatest round of downloadable content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Or is it just Modern Warfare 2?
Either way, the DLC is going to be a timed exclusive out for the Xbox 360 on March 30, 2010, with dates for the PC and PS3 to come at some nebulous later date. This tactic should surprise no one.
What might surprise some people is the tactic being used to promote the DLC. It’s actually rather humorous and not even offensive this time around. Instead, the company has set a website up in order to explain the definition of what it calls “mapathy” which is a, uh, play on words, er, word? Yeah, you get it.

In the Los Angeles Times, writer Alex Pham reports that the San Fernando Library encourages youth to play video games and even invites them to be as loud as they like.
“It lets teens be more comfortable with the library and become familiar with librarians,” San Fernando librarian Lydia Harlan told Pham. “And it’s what kids are into these days.”
In the article, Pham reports that more libraries are turning to video games to connect with technologically savvy youth who might be losing interest in books and stories. In New York, the New York Public Library has even added a collection of books, films, music and maps about video games.
