Obvious Mario Kart imitator approved as iOS app
The iOS marketplace has some gaming gems, but its quality control is still very suspect. Exhibit A: Mole Kart, a recently approved app that bears a suspicious resemblance to Nintendo hit Mario Kart. By suspicious resemblance, I mean it’s an outright rip job. Everything from cart design to the tracks are quite blatantly lifted from more »
Incoming t-shirt depicts a Mario Kart player’s nightmare
If you’ve played Mario Kart, you know about it. Odds are, you’ve even seen it action, perhaps even actually used one. It is the ultimate game changer and the one item that is universally loathed. It is the blue shell.
Mario Kart 7 to have lots of new features
The 3DS conference in Japan on October 21, 2011 wasn’t just about 3DS firmware, Hulu Plus and giving people a reason to actually visit the eShop. It also was a chance for Nintendo to hype up Mario Kart 7, the December 4, 2011 3DS release. Nintendo decided to really get into it, offering details on StreetPass and SpotPass, online functionality and some new features that set this entry apart.
Let’s start with some of the basics. Mario Kart 7 will be a kart racer as usual, with 32 courses in all…
New York Comic Con 2011: Mario Kart 7 demo
The 3DS is coming into its first holiday season with the Vita looming, which means Nintendo is bringing out the big (family friendly) guns. One of those big titles is the upcoming Mario Kart 7 which I had a chance to try out at New York Comic Con.
E3 2011: Mario Kart 3DS races into our hearts this holiday season
We all knew Mario Kart was headed to the 3DS. Now we have a lot more details about the release, thanks to Nintendo devoting a few minutes to it during it’s E3 2011 press conference and having it playable on the show floor. Retro Studios and Nintendo’s newest racer may look a lot like it’s predecessors, but it has a few special extras that set it apart.
Aside from adding new tracks, which was pretty much expected, Mario Kart 3DS takes racers into the air and water
E3 2011: Here’s Nintendo’s 3DS, DS and Wii game lineup
Nintendo’s E3 2011 website is up and it is quite glorious. The games the company announced at its E3 2011 press conference didn’t even begin to cover what gamers can expect from the company in 2011 and 2012. If you take the time to peek over there, you can see there are 11 3DS, 4 DS and 8 Wii games to look forward to. It’s going to be a very good time for Nintendo fans.
If you stop by the site, you can treat yourself to E3 2011 trailers, initial screenshots and a snippet of information available on all 23 games made or published by Nintendo that will be at the show. Or, if you just want the basics, you can keep reading. I’ll separate the games into sections based on platform. You could even copy and paste to use it as a wishlist, so you know what to watch for over the next year.
Kmart’s December 5-11 ad has $20 off on select PS3, Xbox 360 games and more
Alright everyone it’s time once again to bask in the wonderful gaming deals that Kmart has to offer. Unlike last week, Kmart is going light on the gaming coupons for console games. Instead, Kmart is discounting some popular games by as much as $20. Your choices include Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Medal of Honor, NBA Jam and an assortment of EA Sports titles.
Nintendo already has 9 first party 3DS games planned
The 3DS will out in 2011, in February in Japan and March in North America and Europe, but that doesn’t do you much good if you don’t have any games for it! Nintendo’s working on that, and already has a lineup of nine first party games that will be available in early 2011, to coincide with the system’s launch. Yes, some are ports of existing points, but once you see the list I sincerely doubt you’ll be disappointed…
Gamertell Preview: WCG Ultimate Gamer Episode 2
The feuds began instantly in Season 2 of World Cyber Games Ultimate Gamer. Kat and Vanessa have some personal issues, as Kat took her boyfriend a while back. Vanessa promptly began working with Yaz to get rid of Kat. They sent Kat into an elimination match of Tekken 6, but she triumphed. In addition to that, she now knows she’s got a target on her back. AJ wasn’t shy about his crush on Faye, but we’re not sure yet if she feels the same way. Is AJ headed to the dreaded “friend zone?”
A real Mario Kart coin-op kiddie ride (update 2)
Costing $0.50 (50 cents), this rockin’ ride was sitting pretty, looking hardly used (and from the hanging plug next to it, might not have even been plugged in). Strangely enough and seemingly for safety’s sake, there was a honkin’ huge lock on the coin lock. Thank you, Kroger. Thank you for keeping the Nintendo coin-op kiddie ride love alive.
